Although you absolutely should not do this until you've done some background, done all the company educations, and got the company-relevant stock blocks.

I would also suggest you join a company type that you would one day want to run. Watch how the director runs it and make notes of its daily operations and figures. That way you'll be able to easily jump into the Director role and have a good understanding of how they work.
Some things to consider:
-) Yes, You should get the business education courses done as they do help with the running of your company
-) Consider getting the stocks which help with advertising (Tell Group Plc) and sales boost (TC Media Productions)
-) Have friends or faction mates ready to join your company
-) Check the company specials list to see which will benefit you most (Company Specials List)
-) Have enough money to cover all expenses in the company and consider some upgrades too. (Upgrades list)
