Anyone else here into or want to get into game development? Looking to connect with some peeps with interest in this arena
I've messed around a lot with Unity and Unreal. Nothing to brag about though

yes im looking to get into UE myself
UE seemed a lot more complicated than Unity, but I love the blueprint engine it has (even though I'm generally against visual programming)
Any advice on how to use the virus USB...
HackForums might have the answers you seek. Remember, hacking is more fun when it's legal and you get paid to do it

What's up? I'm a game dev.
Honestly right now with the state of the industry, this is not the field of work I would get into. It is incredibly oversaturated, competition is insane, and graduates are coming out of school being almost guaranteed to end up working at their local coffee shops.
If you are really passionate about it and have some raw talent, I would say hone your skills by doing some freelance and building up a portfolio to increase chances of success. But do be prepared to fail over and over.
Playing Torn renewed my interest in building a web-based game myself.
I've played Ogame, Gladiatus, Travian, Fidget&Shakes, etc., but so far I think only Fallen London can compete in terms of depth of content. Torn also showed me, that people can such game for years.
So far I'm full of ideas, let's see, if it gets me anywhere 😝 I'm not quitting my day job just yet 😆
I dabble and happy to chat. My previous focus was Unity, but I gave it up last year when I fancied a new challenge
I've spent a lot of time using pure OpenGL and C++ and really enjoyed that - very hard to manage as the project grows though. I've installed Godot but I've yet to fully 'click' with it. I've recently been playing about with the original source code for Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM just to try and see what I can learn from them. Got a side project trying to import my own levels designed in Blender into an OpenGL application. Previously had a working alternative where I could make levels with Tiled and use them for a Dungeon Master style RPG.
I think my passion would be doing something simulation wise, like SimCity, or a more chill Civilization, but I appreciate that's a big jump so for a starter project I want to do a light RPG.
Purely hobby and enjoyment, no interest in doing professionally.
ive collected many thousands of dollars worth of the monthly assets they give away for free
as I type this I'm watching some videos about 3D AI model generation + blender, then exporting the results to UE :D
also got my first 3D printers recently, which is why I'm also interested in the 3D modelling/AI 3D model generation side of things
A 3D printer is definitely at the top of the line of things I want to mess around with at some point in the future. When you end up getting started with it I'd definitely be curious to see the results
yeah i knew youd be interested in that also LOL
I bought a couple online for $90ish, a lot cheaper now than they used to be
I also see it as an investment as eventually, I'll make some money back in the long run
just got access back to the main model repository I have been waiting on for like 2 weeks with all the Warhammer stuff etc
I can of course show you how to do all of this no problem
Is there a way for users to donate 3d objects we've made in blender or the like (to be used in-game for the item market, etc.)?
