Recently chedburn has been working on decreasing the amount of points in torn and is saying he is gonna add more features to use points on. I have an idea that could benefit the company you own and gets rid of the points at same time. My idea is you use set amounts of points to buy an NPC to work for your company.

Depending on how much you spend depends on how much stats the npc could have, the points would vary through companies since oil field is better than a candle shop when trying to make money. So it wouldn't be cost free, you would have to pay a set amount as "upkeep" daily to keep your npc primes out.

For example:

100 points for a npc with 100-3k work stats total

1k points for npc with 10k-100k work stats total

5k points for npc with 300k-500k work stats Total.

Now it would depend because it could be cheaper for a candle shop but more expensive for a oil field. Could have a cap on how many npc a company could own so not all jobs are npc ran. Also the cost for a 100 stat npc could be 50k to 100k daily (more if u purchase upgrades for them), and for a 500k or larger could costs millions depending on the job.

Also with a cap on number of npc in company if you want to risk for a better one you have to fire the npc and risk a better one. They still go through the 3 day recruit so it can't he constant. Also it would be up to torn if they are worried about abuse that npc last X amount of days before being taken back so you can't hold them forever.

It's probably not the greatest idea but if company is in a bind for a player with stats they could temporarily hire an npc to help out.

Since I was the one that inspired this, I'll chime in.

I think it would take away from the "player" aspect of torn to have this be a permanent thing. If something like this were implemented, it would have to be just for a single day- with a 1-month recharge. That would help keep directors from getting screwed over by people leaving abruptly an hour before reset but not take away the people aspect of the whole company mechanic.

Could be kind of like a temp agency. You spend X number of points to have an NPC step in for 1 day after an unexpected vacancy. Then you'd have to wait for someone to fill the position before doing it again. That way you couldn't use it over and over and avoid using real people.

Also the temp would probably have bare minimum stats needed for the job, or even slightly under.
