If on the other hand your level holding and want to see your true level, youll need to pay someone in a candle shop to do a true level reveal.
Ok thank you !
There's a candle shop special that will show someone's true level if that's any help, although mainly for level holders
You can also get a rough idea via looking at the hall of fame, under "LEVEL".
For a given level, the order is sorted by total experience.
So for myself as an example, I am level 94. I have 10 pages of level 94 players above me (closer to level 95). I have 9 pages of level 94 players below me (closer to level 93).
This tells me I'm about at the halfway point to level 95.
One thing that throws this off are level-holders (who are at the top of the list for their level, as they have enough experience to go to the next level). Those tend to be more of an issue at the common level-holder levels (e.g. 15) though.
It's a great, free way to get a quick ballpark!
Can someone explain what's the idea behind not showing the true level as in other games?
I can understand hiding the formulas for gym, luck, whatever. But what could possibly be the downside of seeing your real progress?
Free hits is one thing. If you're showing level 15 but you're more like level 30, then you're going to have a lot of lower level players who haven't noticed trying to hit you, and losing.
Being 4340 day old character, and having "won 2500 defends" medal is usually a give-away.
Indeed. But surprisingly not everyone pays that much attention. When i first started playing i certainly got my head smashed in a few times trying to fight what I assumed were players around the same stats as me.
