When i complete a new mission from Duke, my agent standing increases, what does this mean?

When they release new contacts for other missions it allows you to meet them to complete those missions... It may be a while.
Once you reach high enough standing, there'll be a "special" mission to unlock harder difficulty missions. (they're the same thing, just bigger numbers; "defeat any 5 players" becomes "defeat 10" becomes "defeat 15")
