    Yeah silly but tbf, perms are usually given on a sense of trust & faith. If leadership feel they can trust a member enough, then it doesn't matter how long that member been in the faction. A scammer isn't defined …

To all players and allies,

 

We've been betrayed by one of our own! Loterius [3073913] has stolen our war funds, putting our faction's progress and security at risk. A total of 450m was stolen which is funds that was supposed to be shared among other members.

 

We ask the public to place as many bounties as possible on Loterius [3073913] and we would appreciate if they can get him to return the stolen fund's to our faction leaders . And please beware not to accept such person to your faction

A 328 Day old player with 0 friends and 5 enemies, who has been in the faction for 40ish days, has banking perms..?

If leadership feel they can trust a member enough, then it doesn't matter how long that member been in the faction.

 

A scammer isn't defined by his/her/its age or time in faction... even a longstanding member in Leadership can scam, like we saw in the case of Lat.

Such a shame that people think it is a fair exchange to lose their reputation over 450m, I know it is a crime game, blah blah blah, but still, you'll never play the game the same way once you scam someone.

Perhaps they had been trying to reason with him for a week and the ultimatum was then to bring it public if no recourse occurred.  LeoMacci beat me to it xD

Could also have been something like, the member was a trader and asked to sell the caches on the faction's behalf, sold them and is refusing to hand back the money. Would be cool to get more of the story.

 

Some lessons for the OP though:

  1. don't trust players who haven't proven themselves with money or items you can't afford to lose
  2. whether Torn forums are sympathetic to people who experience vault thefts or bully them seems to depend on how bored they are and how well your story comes across (screenshots, mitigating circumstances for trusting the person, leader trying to make it right by members usually all get you more sympathy and less victim blaming)
  3. fraction is a numerator divided by a denominator

It's one thing to make a post for awareness and to warn others.

 

It's another to impliedly admit that you can't be bothered to make the effort and to crowdfund punishment on your behalf.
