Just on the outskirts of town sits an old three story wooden structure. There is a path that leads through the woods to the front porch of the establishment. It is well maintained given its long history. Top two floors are rooms of either 1, 2, or 3 beds depending on the needs. The bottom floor is the bar with a kitchen in the back, many tables and chairs as well as booths that one can sit and eat or drink at. A few booths sit in a dimly lit area for those needing a little discretion.

The outside is what you would expect of an older tavern is style building with panels on each side of the windows on all three floors. As you approach the front porch, you see a wooden sign hanging from the ceiling of the porch with red lettering that says "Red Dragon Inn".

Approaching the double wooden doors that are the front entrance to the place, you would push down on a black metallic handle until a click sound was made allowing you to push open the door (or doors depending on your mood) to see the open area of the bar.                      ( I am not sure on the rules of this forum in torn but I tried to make this a rp forum for any being or creature you feel like being. I have also left the start of this open so anyone can use it for there entrance. If anyone plays I will make a post about mu character and where he is.)

She steps onto the raised platform stage at the center of the Inn as tables set all around her with patrons starting to come in for an evening meal. Delicate deep blue fingers tune her lute in preparation. Hushed voices broken up by cutlery tapping on plates preamble her performance. Without any introduction, she strums a chord that reverberates off of the bar tap through the souls of all that are able to hear it and then back again into her own. Another chord accompanies it shortly after that complements the first. A third chord slightly minor in tone, sets a scene of melancholy sorrow that rings out throughout the Inn for a while that ends with a fourth chord of triumph followed quickly by the first chord. Her deep blue devils tail swaying in time with the rhythm of each quarter note as her hips trail behind.

Love, take me down to The Red Dragon Inn

To drjnk away all my troubles and sin

When I must snore

'An I can drink no more

Love, take. Me down to The Red Dragon Inn

Her voice projects itself out from within her breast til just outside the enterance to the Inn giving pause to play her chord progression through once more before starting back up again.

Love, take me down to The Red Dragon Inn

As I wait for my adventure to begin

As I come back sore

From a personal war

Love, take me down to The Red Dragon Inn

The chord progression changes momentarily to incorporate a lead melody betwixt each chord that follows the same pattern as the vocal melody she has established before entering her last verse.

Love, take me down to The Red Dragon Inn

To that very place where I've always been

When it's no more

Only a song to adore

Can't take me down to The Red Dragon Inn

The song ends where it all began on the first chord. Ringing out as though the song, itself, were a memory relived for a short while. She scratches at her wavy dark blue locks of hair around her short black devil horns in anticipation of her next performance

As business was picking up, sounds could be heard from the kitchen area behind the bar that was at the far left of the area. Clinking from utensils, bangs of pots and pans as they were set on stoves or counter tops, a glass cup shattering as it was accidentally dropped on the ground. It caused most of the patrons to stop talking for a moment to look at what had happen but their attention was soon grabbed by something else....the performer on the platform.

A tall man of approximately 6' 2" stepped out from the kitchen pushing the double swinging doors wide so he could make it through with two trays of glassware stacked on top of one another. He was dressed in a white dress short with a black vest over it, black pleated slacks, and very well maintained black dress shoes. He weighed 245 lbs and most of it was muscle.

He placed the trays down and grabbed a towel placing it over his left shoulder foe the moment. His ice blue orbs peered around the room looking at all the individuals there. He enjoyed tending the bar and taking care of the Inn. When he was about to start drying the glasses, he let his gaze wander up onto the stage to the performer and listens to the singing.

TennesseeTurner [3164172]

A jovial instrumental resonates off the thin harp strings plucked from delicate yet nimble blue fingers. Accompanied by the tune is a slow shuffling dance as she moves around the edge of the stage in a circle. Her steps punctuate the progression with a soft lead between each step, planting left over right over left foot when she leans left and then opposite when she leans right.

After one trip around the stage, she steps down off the platform to continue her dance around the dining area around each table. A smile stretches across her face and she twirls causing her dark green and tan dress to flair out with a gilded hem. Her block heeled black shoes keep perfect rhythm with her song as she serenades the spectators in subdued splendor before returning to her spot on the platform. She concludes the song with a curtsy and a bow and introduces herself.

"Thank you all for joining us tonight. I am Larissa the Balladeer here to bring songs to soothe your weary souls and put you at ease to help you feel comfortable for as long as you may stay at The Red Dragon Inn." She locks eyes with the man from the kitchen whom she's just now noticed has been watching her performance and smiles at him from across the room. "If any of you may have any requests I'll be happy to sing, dance, and strum along. If you've too much drink, please don't hesitate to sing along. Bards tales are much more enjoyed as a group after all" She finishes with a giggle, strumming a few idle chords while waiting for the patrons to speak amongst each other

MdNgtF8 [2059601]

He had continued to watch the performer for some time. He would turn his attention to the patrons for a bit to make sure everything was fine. A female approached the bar requesting two mixed drinks and a beer. After a nod to the woman, he placed the towel off to the side and set about grabbing the required glasses and alcohols to make the order. When completed, there was two glasses and a frosted mug on the bar top. The mug had a dark amber drink in it, beer, and the other two glasses where filled with a few different color liquids.

He watched the woman grab the glasses and begin to make her way towards a booth near the right rear of the area. He watched to make sure she did not lose any of the drinks along the way. When she made it to her table, his gaze turned back to the performer on stage. He listened to her soft voice and watched as she finished her song and began to speak to the crowd.

Picking up the towel again, a smile appeared on his slightly pale face and the very tips of two of his top teeth could be seen. After a little time he turned his attention back to the bar and continued with cleaning and straightening up the bottles, glasses and other items that were needed.

MdNgtF8 [2059601]

The singer had finished for the evening and the bar was slightly busy as was usual for this time. Most of his customers were satisfying their taste for the alcoholic beverages he made. Green ones, orange ones, multi colored ones, it didn't matter what the color of drink or what alcohol or mix was involved. He could make it. And 85% of the drinks he made were as good as the original if not better. Of course there are a few he is not the best at making. But if you ask those in the Inn (at least those coherent enough to carry on a conversation) who makes the best drinks? Well.....most of them would tell you Fex.

In case you ask who is Fex? That would be the individual behind the bar. Fex Sanguiness to be exact. And he loved taking care of the bar and the inn.

He was finished with most of the cleaning of utensils and glasses that had been used and since the kitchen had been closed for a bit of time, as it was getting to the wee hours of the morning, he had nothing left to do but wait for last call and wipe down any spills.

Man wearing Neon yellow and green tactical attire walks in and sits at the bar.

"Heard you got a nice singer he-yump! I always enjoy gettin' my lobes tintillated!

What's good to drink in he-yump? I prefer sips, but I'll settle for a gulp."

MdNgtF8 [2059601]

He had gone in the back to grab a few supplies for wiping down the few remaining tables and booths that we're occupied at the moment when he heard the inn door open for a brief moment before shutting closed. He walked from the back to great the individual in slightly bright colors.

"In fact we do have a very talented and lovely singer that graces us on each night. But unfortunately she has finished for this eve and will not be appearing again until tomorrow. As for the drink...." all of which was said as he grabbed a square six inch tall glass and set it in front of the individual before grabbing a dark colored bottle from one of the shelves and began to pour the dark copper color liquid into the glass. "This may be something that might work for sip or maybe even gulp. It has a slight sting going down but a rather smooth finish. But that is my opinion. Taste for yourself" as he slides the glass to the individual with a napkin.

The old woman hobbled slowly up the stairs onto the porch and pushed the latch on one of the double doors. The door to the left.  The left hand door. She heard a click and tried to pull the door open.  Locked.  She could see lights on and movement behind the dusty windows.

"Must be a private party," she mutters to herself.

She moves over to the right and pushes down on the handle. Once again she pulls. Once again it holds sturdy.

"Aaaargh,' and in frustration she kicks the bottom of the door while her hand is still on the latch.

The door opens inward and she stumbles forward.  Pulling her long cloak closer around her, she approaches the bar.

"I'm looking for a room.  Do you have a single room in this inn?" she inquires of the bar keep.

Daisy3 [730750]

It's very late and the old woman is tired.  She pulls a battered purse out from under her ragged cloak and thumps it down on the bar.  She looks around with her near-sighted eyes wondering if there are any thieves or cut throats in the Inn.  Oh well, she thinks.  I need a place to rest.

MdNgtF8 [2059601]

He was startled slightly by the entrance of the older woman that had come through the front door. But, after having stepped away from the other individual that was at the bar, he moved to the opening in the southern end of the bar and step out bowing slightly to the woman "Of course we have openings. Are you looking for specifics in the room or just a place to lay your head for the eve?"

The time for last call for drinks had come and some of the patrons had made their way up the stairs (well some stumbling and falling making them have to retry the stairs again) to their rooms. Only a third of the inns rooms were occupied.

Walking out of the bar area and down a small hallway, he turned around to make sure the woman was following him until he made it to an area in the back with a few couches and recliners with ottomans. Stepping behind a small counter, he waited for the woman to reply to his question.

Daisy3 [730750]

"Yes, please," she whispered. "Top floor with a window facing the path into the woods if you have it. I will be here for 3 days."

MdNgtF8 [2059601]

He turned around and grabbed a silver skeleton key with the room number 301 etched along the main body. He turned back to the woman and set the key on the counter in front of her "This room should do it for you. It is a room with a single full size bed with a view out the window towards the woods. And as luck would have it ( for the woman anyway) this room has already been payed for up to seven days. The individual that had purchased the room unfortunately met a bad ending to his day and as he has no one else to refund the money to, well.....all I can do is give it to someone who can use it."

Daisy3 [730750]

"how unfortunate for him," she says as a slow smile spreads across her face. "Thank you kind sir."

She takes the skeleton key and hobbles over toward the stairs.

MdNgtF8 [2059601]

After nodding and watching the woman walk towards the stairs, he moves from behind the counter and returns to the bar area to start cleaning up for the night.

It took a little time but after seeing the last bar patron leave, he locked up the bar area and went to the office to begin paperwork.

Daisy3 [730750]

The old woman hobbled slowly up to the third floor.  She went to room 301 and used the skeleton key.  She walked in and looked around. Then she went to the window and opened it wide.  A breeze made the curtains flutter. She went over to the bed and sat down.  She removed her cloak, backpack and boots.  She took a small vial out of her backpack and sprinkled some powder on the windowsill and in front of the door.

She got into bed, curled around her backpack like a cat, covered herself with her cloak and fell into a deep sleep.

A lone figure approaches the structure, steadily making their way up the porch... With a dragon skin coat covering almost all of their physique, carrying a sack over their right shoulder and a sword in their left hand... A worn out scarf covers their mouth and nose and a bloodstained hat sits on his their head.. They make their way inside the structure... One step inside they pause and take in all details before heading towards the bar...

Because most patrons usually worked in the mornings or early afternoon, the tavern part of the inn was closed until late afternoon.

The sun was starting to go down and he had the place open waiting for patrons to come. It didn't take long before the doors opened and a person appeared. He looked the individual over and then stepped behind the bar. He waited to see if there was anything this individual needed.

Skellington [2671472]

Julo wandered aimlessly through the city towards its edge. He wasn't sure what to do next, but he wasn't too concerned with the lack of direction. He still tried to wrap his head around what had happened at Wood's. There was something about that place that didn't sit well with him. Too many weird events? Perhaps, but not quite. It was all the unexpected twists and turns that gave the place a feeling of unease to him. He had to anticipate quickly too many times in a single day as it were already, and he wasn't looking to be on high alert when he was relaxing as well. He just wanted to have a stiff drink, a warm, nutritious meal, and, if possible, a good conversation. He looked around. He had reached the huge forest that hugged the city's outskirts. He had been here several times but had never taken the time to take in the surroundings. The majority of the trees in the forest were old oaks and huge beeches, creating a somewhat mystical atmosphere as if he walked in an enchanted forest. The dim, warm light reflected on the fallen leaves that covered the forest floor. It was quite soothing.

As he stood there, enjoying the beauty around him, Julo's senses were triggered by a soft, pleasant nose. It was the sound of someone singing. Though muffled, it didn't seem to come from very far. It sounded like it came from inside a building of some sorts, which would explain the muffling. Smiling at the thought of the mythical sirens, he tried to locate the source of the singing. His eyes fell on a small path that seemed to lead into the forest. He frowned, amazed that he had never seen it before, despite having walked here countless times in the past.

Without hesitation, Julo took the alluring looking path, curious to find out where it would lead him. The deeper he got into the forest, the more dim the light became. The sound of singing, subsequently growing in volume, suddenly became a lot louder for a second and then quickly faded back to its previous level. It took him a few seconds to realize that  someone had probably opened and closed a door behind which the singer would be. The leaf-covered, grassy path took a left turn around a particularly huge beech, revealing a huge green wall of dense shrubbery. The vague reflection of dim lights shone through the sparse small holes in the foliage. It looked like there was a building behind that thick, green wall, and chances were that was where the singing came from.

A bit cautious towards the unknown, Julo proceeded. He rounded the foliage and came to a clearing in the middle of which an old, wooden building towered. It was at least three stories high and had the likes of an old tavern or perhaps a hotel. In either case, it seemed friendly enough. He approached the entrance, an old, worn double door built on a porch. A sign swung on the rhythm of the soft gusts of wind that gently touched the forest. He read the sign. It read Red Dragon Inn. He sighed in relief. An inn, just what he needed. He felt quite worn and desperately in need of something warm to eat and a good drink. He grabbed the metal handle, pushed it down, and swung the door open. He ducked instinctively as he entered the inn, well aware of previous painful encounters with doorframes. Those ancient doorframes simply hadn't been built with his tall frame in mind.

Julo found himself in a warm, open room with a bar, several tables, chairs and booths, and a stage. The bar was occupied by a man with a hulking stature, probably the bartender. He also noticed a silhouette covered in dragon skin clothing walking towards the bar and a blue-skinned female with a sweeping devil's tail frolicking around the tables.  Judging by the lute in her hands, the female seemed to be the one that had sung earlier. The other character held a sword in a resting position.

Julo took off his Stetson and shrugged. It was all good, as long as he could have a meal and a drink. He awaited his turn and then asked the man behind the bar if there was any chance on ordering a single malt and whatever warm meal was available.

Daisy3 [730750]

After sleeping for nearly 12 hours, the woman got up and went to the window breathing in the afternoon air. She checked the powder on the window sill and seeing it still undisturbed she left the window open.  She went back to her backpack and got out her spyglass and returned to the window.  She could see over the trees and quite a distance away.  She scanned the area and could make out the top of Wood's Tavern in the distance.

She folded up the spyglass and went back to the bed.  She pulled her boots out and removed the pretty stones in the bottom and tossed them in her backpack with her spyglass. After lacing up her boots she adjusted her backpack under her cloak. She no longer hobbled but the backpack did make her look hunched up.

She went down to the dining area to see if she could get a bowl of stew and some goat's milk.
