Yes, but only for the same company type:
E.g, I could leave the candle shop I'm currently directing, join a new candle shop, and I'd still have and be able to use my job points.

What Masterf1re said is correct, but it should also be mentioned that the points you earn don't disappear if you decide to switch careers. They stay with you even if you move on to different company types for a few years. When you eventually go back, you'll have all the points you left with.
