Chat Translator

As we all know Torn is an English-speaking game, leaving some at a huge disadvantage. Google Translate is used by most who do not speak English leaving them having to go back and forth and copy-paste and all that hoo doo stuff. I play other online games and they have an in-chat translate button. This allows them to quickly communicate without the need to leave the game to translate and copy paste and back and forth.

I have noticed too that Google Translate does not work very well and has led to misunderstandings and some rather tense moments in chats. I'm not exactly sure how hard it would be to add such a convenient button to the chat, but I can almost promise you that it would lead to less stress and a much better flow of communications.

Anyway, this is my suggestion to the community people, and find this to be one thing missing from the chat 2.0.It would help in many areas of the game experience. Hope you can at least consider my thoughts.

chat 3.0 is already in development, though I doubt it would include an in-game translator with how much they overestimated the capabilities that 2.0 would be able to deliver.

Google translate has always worked fine for me for general conversations, it's only when slang terminology or trying to offend someone with slurs or swear words gets thrown in the mix that it becomes a little inaccurate.

Just so I understand clearly what you said : Google has a translation tool they spent years to polish, but there are issues with it so you're asking Torn to develop a better one among everything else going on with the chat ?

I guess it's so the staff can check chats and make sure everyone is being "good" and not planning anything or abusing other players in a different language 

I'm sure there are many many many online games that I don't know about because they are in a different language 

If your playing torn you must have a basic understanding of english

You admit this is English speaking game, you admit there is google translator to be readily used, by simply copying the text, what the actual f**k more do you want.

The Torn Minimal Viable Product team to develop a better translator then f**king Google??

It's too much effort to press 5 buttons to translate something that is your own fault and choice for not understanding?

I mean I get it but I think staff needs to have a team huddle and get on the same page with how things are handled 😂 it seems like everything is just discretionary with too many gray areas and people doing whatever they want to really have any semblance of rules and guidelines 

Things with ratings get moved all the time to suggestions, if you search the word "moved" filtered in suggestions, you can find countless examples. If you're saying this is void as a suggestion because of that, then you should be voiding every one of them too.

Yes...yes... yes..... so many yes words to put here

So many times someone is begging or asking for a wife or blatantly posting in the wrong section

It gets reported and most of the time it's moved or graved

Some times it's left in place.... why leave that one when similar ones are graved

I have reported the same thread 3 times before it's been moved to the correct section (graved)

Why did mod 1 & 2 leave it but mod 3 move it

There needs to be set rules

This... "it has votes so leave it' is bullshit, as you have said

Anything in the suggestions section needs 250 votes to be looked at and if it's rubbish it won't get anywhere 

And as we all know even if it gets the required amount of votes it still gets ignored
