Can someone explain me how CE works? Because yesterday I had 15 on cracking and this morning it was reduced to 5 all out of a sudden.

If you click on the crime bar it will show you how many times you've attempted the crime, how many successes, fails, and critical fails. Critical fails will reduce your Crime Skill level in the crime, I expect that is what has happened here. To note, Crime Skill (the number you see) and Crime Experience are different things, CE is a hidden stat.
a red fail reduces your crime experience pretty hard, especially at lower levels. best to read emforus's guides on each new crime if you want to level them up quickly :)

U shouldnt be doing cracking. Start with search for cash and work yr way up.
CE is a separate (and invisible) stat. What you are talking about is CS (Crime Skill, not Crime Experience).
Critical failure reduces your Crime Skill. Cracking should be fairly safe, though. I've had only 9 critical fails out of 5+ thousand attempts.
