A student just receive an email from Hikari Academy about his scholarship test. But didn't he know what awaits on him. Can he really get his scholarship paper or unexpected twist will happened?

This story is one of my entry from the Horror Story-Making Contest so I thought I would like to share it here. I also published it on my Wattpad and timeline update in may Facebook. Feel free to search it I don't mind at all.
Chapter 1: Invitation and Survival
[ You receive a message! ]
“Congratulations! You are the 30th student that has been chosen for our scholarship program. Meet us at Hikari Academy today at 4 p.m. for further information. See you!”
Finally! After 3 days of taking the scholarship exam, I finally passed. All I have to do is go to Hikari Academy and get the scholarship paper. I need to dress up in a shirt and jogging pants before going to the academy.
After getting ready myself, I rode a tricycle and jeep to Hikari Academy. When I’m at the entrance gate, there are no other students there so maybe they are already inside the building. I was in front of the entrance building but I didn’t see any students inside. So maybe they are in a classroom?
I decided to go inside the building and walk straight since I’m still not familiar with this building even after taking the scholarship exam, I don’t have a plan to go around after the exam since I still have to go on a part-time job.
I’m almost at the end of a two doorway with the sign “Gym” when I hear something so I open and check that noise. Inside the Gym, other students are chatting each other but I don’t see any teachers/staff instead a banner saying “Welcome!”.
Something vibrated in my jogging pants, so I took it out and opened my phone. Another notification from the same email?
[ “Survive for an hour. Goodluck! Time remaining: 01:00:00” ]
“What’s going on?”
“This is ridiculous. I’m out of here.”
“Hey! The door is locked! Open the door!”
All the students are shouting right now. What does the email mean to survive?
Suddenly, the student from the front door moved backward when we heard a loud bang from the other side of the door. A few minutes later, the loud bang was stopped and instantly the door broke down.
Decaying flesh skin, lifeless eyes, tattered clothing, bloodstains, and missing body parts. Am I dreaming? They are wearing costumes right? But that looks so realistic. Cool!
“What a lame zombie costume--“
A group of zombies appeared and made a big leap to a student in front. Shocking to sight with fear when watching a student being eaten by a zombie. All I just say “Run!” and they start panicking. All the zombies are running towards us. Some of the students are pushing in front and out of balance when they stumble to another student.
I was running to the other exit door but the zombies are also coming here too?! Why is this happening to me? No choice but to head on the corner stairs. Following other students maybe the right choice. But not for me. I was already on the second floor and other students almost followed me so I made a run towards an open door at the other side.
At the other side of the door, there was a small bridge towards the other building, and continued on a run, but I also observed that the zombies from the bottom knew how to climb the bridge post. That’s impossible!
After reaching the other side, three students were running to my point and two zombies were chasing them. The two zombies caught one student and the other students tried to help but they felt fear and helpless.
The students were already at my point and there was a button on the left side. A horde of zombies are running here so I tried to close the door but it won’t budge even a single move. A student accidentally pushes the button and automatically the door has been closed in an instant.
I or we are still in shock after what we saw and feel helpless when a student gets eaten by the two zombies. I took out the phone and my hands were still shaking. I’m still scared and feel anxious at the same time. By looking at the phone, 12 minutes remaining, the zombies are still trying to get through the door but fail.
I’m doing a sneak walk right now and the two students are still following me. I guess this is better than to be alone. We are in the room right now hopefully find something can defend ourselves against the zombies.
Another vibrate from my phone so I took it and checked out. It was a countdown from 3… 2… 1…
[ “You have successfully managed to survive and escape from the horde of zombies. Now head to the rooftop if you want to leave this building. Time limit: 04:00:00 (7 students left). After an hour, all the doors that have been closed will be open so be prepared. Goodluck!” ]
I’m trying to reply to an email but the account has already been deleted. Well, we don’t have a choice but to be prepared for now. Can the three of us survive from the horde of zombies and make it to the rooftop? What can we expect at the top? A massive zombie or a boss fight… maybe? I’ll leave it to your imagination. Gonna be prepared myself for now.
Chapter 2: Introduction
We are in a big classroom right now while bringing some stuff that we have for every room on this floor. A couple of pieces of bread, six bottles of water, a baseball bat, a toy gun, and a real handgun but for some reason, the bullets from a real gun were limited to the two rooms, while the toy gun had round pellets for every room.
I mean, it's weird why round bullets are more likely to be found in every room than real bullets. Was it because of a dud? Was it because only the real bullet can penetrate and kill the zombie, so that was rare to find?
Even though there are round bullets, I’m still picking them up. Maybe for making an attraction for the upcoming horde of zombies?
“Kaede, are you still thinking there? Hello?" said a man beside me while sitting in an Indian seat. He’s looking at me with curiosity.
“Ah yeah, sorry…"
I’m Suzumiya Kaede, a college student who should be getting the scholarship paper, but it turns out that I fell into a trap full of zombies outside and on the first floor. 7 survivors are still alive. We still have 46 minutes left before the door will be open again.
I have two students here with me right now. On my right side, his name was Johan Liebert, and on my left side, her name was Yumeko Jabami. They were best friends ever since senior high school until they decided to enroll and participate in a scholarship program like me. But now, they are the same as me here… felt like we were in a game where our enemies were a horde of zombies and we still didn’t know where the source was and what happened.
Johan: Now that we have stuff that we need to protect ourselves, what should we do now?
Kaede: We should split our food and then each of us will get something to protect ourselves. And besides, we need to get on the 5th floor which is the rooftop, am I right?
Johan: Yeah. I already joined the campus tour here in this building before the scholarship examination so there’s nothing that will be the problem for now.
Kaede: Yumeko, is there anything you wanna add up?
Yumeko: …
Kaede: (She’s still quiet until now. I wonder if she’s okay now.)
Johan: Don’t worry about Yumeko. She is still a bit shocked after our best friend has been eaten by the two zombies. She will be fine. Give her some time.
Kaede: I know but we need to move and make a plan to reach the 3rd floor. We still don’t know what’s up there. We should be prepared.
After splitting up our food, we are finally deciding what weapon should we use now.
Kaede: I’m taking this toy gun. I’ll be the distraction and noise attention for the zombies.
Johan: You mean this airsoft gun?
Kaede: Airsoft gun?
Johan: What?! You don’t know what’s an airsoft gun? It has been popular a year ago. This airsoft gun needs a blowback gas to inject under the magazine so that when you release the trigger, the round bullet will release and automatically reload it. Got it?
Kaede: Yeah thanks.
Johan: Well then, I’ll get and use the real gun. I know how to use this and a big responsibility ahead. I need to conserve the limited amount of bullets that we collected earlier.
Kaede: Then the baseball bat should give it to Yumeko--
Johan looks at me and shakes his head. I don’t understand why…
Yumeko: Kaede… Can you pass me that baseball bat?
Kaede: Hmm..? Why--
Yumeko: Please? 🙂
That big and wide smile is not an ordinary smile. It looks like she’s planning something bad…
**BONK**
She made a small swing to Johan’s head and felt like I was the next target. He made a slight bow down for a long time trying not to make eye contact with her.
Yumeko: Are you some kind of an idiot, Johan? I already heard you about bringing a baseball bat. So what if I bring that up until the cafeteria? It’s not like I’m looking for a fight.
Johan: You ARE loo--
Yumeko: One more time and you will be hit by a full-swing baseball bat on your head by me.
Johan: Okay fine I’ll stop.
Kaede: Geez, you’re still fighting at the time like this?
I took the phone and looked at the remaining time.
[Time remaining: 03:14:26 (7 students left)]
Now we don’t have a time to prepare much right now. 14 minutes left before the door here at this second floor will open and the horde of zombies will coming and chase us. We need to move and go to the 3rd floor at once!
Chapter 3: Reaching the 3rd Floor
We are walking outside of the room. All the stuff that we gathered earlier has been put in a small bag that Yumeko had. I was in the front, Yumeko was in the middle, and Johan was at the back. I’m feeling nervous right now while walking on a straight path.
Kaede: Which way are we going? Left or right?
Johan: To the left side.
Both the left and right sides have a dark side at the end, so it was creepy for me. Of course, I’m scared, but it’s better to move forward than stay and wait for the horde of zombies.
While walking after taking the left path, I heard small steps and saw a person wearing a uniform and a plain white smiley face. It doesn’t seem to have a weapon in both hands. And a girl on the back...
“My goodness! We found the three survivors aside from us!”
“Would you keep quiet? So annoying…”
That girl is also wearing a uniform and has a small fire extinguisher in her right hand. She’s waving at us, and the man wearing a white mask with a smiley face is still walking beside her.
Johan: Are both of you also survivors?
“Yeah! Right, Kiyo?”
“…”
“Sorry, my bad. He doesn’t talk much, especially when he doesn’t know the person who is talking to.”
Kaede: Yeah… *slightly look at Yumeko* I know that feeling…
Yumeko: What are you looking at?
Kaede: (I wish this man wearing a mask was the opposite of Yumeko.)
“By the way, I’m Belphegor, and this person wearing a mask with no reason is Kiyotaka Ayanokouji. Nice to meet you."
Kaede: I’m Suzumiya Kaede.
Johan: I’m Johan Liebert.
Yumeko: Yumeko Jabami…
After our introductions in the middle of the hallway, all the lights turned red and white, and the sound of the alarm went loud. All of us look at each other, and Johan moves backward to check the other hallway. We don’t know what’s going on.
I took out my phone for the clue and open if there was update email from the same sender.
**BLAG!!**
**BLAG!!**
**STUMP! STUMP! STUMP!**
Johan: Look over here, guys! The zombies are coming here! We need to move now.
As I look in the hallway, they are just walking normally, but there are so many zombies at the back. We need to go now.
Johan: We have to go right now! Go forward, Kaede!
Kaede: Got it!
Belphegor: Where are you guys going?
Johan: To the 3rd floor. We need to move now.
Belphegor: But the way is on the right side, not here.
Yumeko: What?!
We immediately ran to the right side, but it was too late. On the right side, the zombies are also coming to us. We really should be thankful that they are walking, not running.
Kiyotaka: We’re going on a detour route to the right side. Follow me; I know the right way.
Belphegor: Do you already know? Why didn't you tell us earlier?
Kiyotaka: Alternative plan. We also go to the right side, but we also encounter other survivors.
He’s calmly talking to Belphegor while both of his hands are in the pockets of his pants. We just follow Kiyotaka since he knows the way to the 3rd floor. Did he know the way in the first place?
We are now on the staircase to the 3rd floor, and we push the red button at the wall to pull down the steel bars. All the zombies that were chasing us before have decreased more than I expected. Here’s what I observed the moment before reaching here inside the staircase.
First, Johan’s gun. Firing at the zombies is not very effective before the zombie dies. Even targeting the forehead takes two shots before it dies. If it’s a target on the body, the zombie will fall yet rise again. I don’t understand why, but the point is that “using a real gun can deal damage to a zombie, but there is a small chance of instant death after two shots”.
Second, the weapon I am using, called an “Airsoft Gun” is special. Why? A single shot of a zombie at any target can easily kill. I don’t know why, but I think there are some special effects from the round bullets.
And lastly, Kiyotaka and Yumeko are good at fighting against zombies. I didn’t expect that Kiyotaka could deal with zombies with his bare hands. He didn’t even let them touch him or make any scratches on his body. He’s well-trained.
Belphegor? She didn’t do much against the zombie. All I could say was that the small fire extinguisher she was using was to take down the zombies after Kiyotaka defeated them and tried to get up.
We are all exhausted after reaching the third floor. Or should I say not really exhausted because all of us trembled with fear (except Kiyotaka)? My pocket has been vibrating, so I took it and checked it out.

Chapter 4: Am I counting right?
We are now on the third floor. Together with Johan, Yumeko, Belphegor, and Kiyotaka manage to survive on the second floor. It was easy since the zombies were just walking toward us.
From what I see right now, there are two pathways. The straight line goes through a vending machine, and the right path is from the other rooms.
**Blag!**
What the--? Did I just see from that room that it automatically closed the door? Or was it someone else's survivors here too?
Kaede: Should we check that area?
Johan: Yeah. You should go first.
Kaede: Huh? Why me?
Johan: You still have round bullets, am I right? I only have 7 bullets left in my magazine.
Kaede: Yes, I have more round bullets, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have much blowback gas.
Belphegor: Is this blowback gas that you are talking about?
She’s pointing it at her small fire extinguisher. It’s not, by the way, so I just ignore her. I have no choice but to lead and open the door, which suddenly closes.
I’m at the door right now and trying to open it by the doorknob, but it won’t move. It’s locked. Is it just my imagination when I heard a sudden closed door earlier?
Kaede: The door is locked. What should I do?
Johan: Move aside, Kaede. I have already seen what will happen right now.
Johan moved a little backward and then made a strong kick to the door. I don’t understand why, but it doesn’t make sense since that door opens on the outside, not inside. Now the door has a hole beside the doorknob, all thanks to Johan. I almost made a facepalm on my face after what he did.
"FBI, open up!”
Kaede: Hey, hey! That wasn’t necessary! Are you someone from the agency or something, Johan?
Belphegor: He just wants to say that line from Facebook. And besides, we’re not the police. We are the survivors.
“Survivors?”
“Did someone say survivors?”
“Let them in!”
“No! What if they were zombies that had human intelligence like us?”
**Bang!**
Johan took the gun and made a shot from the doorknob. First, he just kicked the door and made a hole. And now he shot the doorknob. I can open the door by putting my right hand on it and opening the other side of the doorknob that way.
"Intelligence, my ass. Are you kidding me?”
There are four students here in the room. A man on Johan’s left side, a girl who is sitting on the bed, a girl who is lying on the bed with an injury on her left arm, and a boy beside the injured girl. In this room, we are now in the clinic room.
“Please, don’t kill us! We are the survivors just like you.”
“Spare us our lives.”
“AHHHHH! MY ARM! IT HURTS!”
Johan: What happened to her?
“We have been ambushed by the zombies on the second floor while rushing ahead here to this third floor when they suddenly attacked my side and my sister pulled me to her. She protected me until her left arm made a deep wound from the scratch of a zombie.”
“The zombie was tough to deal with by using these metal pipes. We are just surrounded by the zombies until we reach here.”
Kiyotaka: State your names.
“I’m Kise Ryouta.”
“I’m Tanya von Degurechaff.”
“I’m Tanjiro Kamado, and this is my sister, Nezuko Kamado.”
We also made our introductions after they stated their names. And now the student survivors are... 2... 3... Wait a minute. Hold up. The email says we have 7 survivors, but why am I counting like 9? Am I counting right?
Hmm, there is something wrong here. If this is the “Among Us” game, then there were two impostors among us. And the two of them may be zombies, but in a similar way.
From what I observe right now, Nezuko is one of them. Why? What if a zombie has a way of infecting us by hurting or eating other students and turning us into zombies? Just like what we see in the movies, a human who gets bitten by a zombie will turn into a zombie. But in this case, Nezuko has been scratched by the zombie.
Now the other one... Who is the other one? Maybe Kiyotaka since he is still wearing that mask and it has a mutant body of a half-human and half zombie. I don’t think that’s impossible if he fights against the zombie from the beginning.
Chapter 5: Vending Machine
I’m outside of the clinic room right now while holding my phone. We only have 18 minutes left before the steel bar opens and reaches us on the third floor. Yumeko is at the vending machine, looking inside to see what products they have.
“This vending machine has a medical bandage too? That’s odd.”
Kaede: What do you mean, Yumeko?
Yumeko: Oh, it’s you, Kaede. This vending machine has food, beverages, and medical bandages.
Kaede: Did you try to get something on that vending machine?
Yumeko: I don’t have any money, especially coins. There’s a note beside the vending machine that says, “Insert a gold coin!”
Kaede: I do have coins inside my purse. Is a 5-peso coin enough since it’s gold?
Yumeko: You should try it first.
I took out my coin purse and took the 5 peso coin. I put a coin inside the vending machine, and it didn’t credit; instead, it was dropped on the floor.
“5 peso coin was made of nickel-plated steel.” Someone talked behind me so I turned around.
Kaede: Kiyotaka, what are you doing here?
Kiyotaka: Wandering around. I’m a bit curious about this vending machine.
Kaede: So what do you think?
Kiyotaka: Maybe we should look around on this third floor.
Kaede: Okay, then it’s been decided.
I’m following Kiyotaka right now to look for the gold coins. At the first door of a room, Kiyotaka opens it and is shocked when a zombie jumps on him, but he already evades it. He pushed the zombie toward us, and Yumeko made a good response by swinging her baseball bat to the head. The skull of the zombie gets crushed, and all the blood flees rapidly to the floor.
Yumeko was slightly showing her smile, which made me feel a bit weird and scary on her side. Lesson learned: Don’t mess with her, or else I will easily get beaten like a zombie.
Inside the dark room, of course, we don’t see anything. Kiyotaka opened his flashlight from his phone, and a bunch of zombies were still inside, so I took them out using my gun, and then we kept searching for the gold coins inside. We found four gold coins and headed back to the vending machine.
We used all the gold coins, and this is what we got. 2 medical bandages, a bag of chips, and a big bottle of water, probably 500 mL. Yumeko is getting lucky since the vending machine is not an ordinary machine. It’s a roulette vending machine. Me and Kiyotaka get the medical bandages, while Yumeko gets a bag of chips and a big bottle of water.
Yumeko: Hmm? There is a piece of paper inside the bag of chips.
Kaede: A receipt, maybe?
As we look at the piece of paper, we see the map with five red circles based on the image with a specific description. One of the five red circles is on the trash bin, and when I look at it, it’s empty. But when I lift the trash bin, there is a gold coin there, so I pick it up.
“Yo! You’re lucky, huh? Finding a gold coin that can sell it after we get outta here? We should split and share with us, would you?”
Kaede: Kise? Why are you here outside? This gold coin is what we need to use that vending machine. I don’t have a plan to keep it.
Kise: That’s too bad. Anyway, I just smell food here. Is that potato chips? Can I have some?
Yumeko: Yeah sure…
He took some chips inside and said “Thank you!”. He told us what was happening inside the clinic. Nezuko’s wound on her left arm is getting worse, and she suffers a lot of pain. Tanya and Belphegor are talking to each other. Johan was guarding the door outside.
Kiyotaka? Ahh, he wants to scout the way to the fourth floor. He seemed interested, so I just told him to take care of himself and not to die. I don’t know his expression since he’s still wearing a white mask.
Kaede: Can I ask for a favor, Kise?
Kise: Huh? What’s up? If it’s not dangerous, then I’ll do what I can.
Kaede: Can you spot the other gold coins in the red circles on that paper?
Yumeko passes the piece of paper to Kise, and he looks at it. He looks confused, I guess?
Kise: Okay, got it. I have already memorized all the red spots. I’ll be back.
Kaede: Ah, one more thing, Kise. If you see a room, don’t open it. Got it?
Kise: Why?
Kaede: Ambush zombies. It is possible that the zombies will approach us again if you step inside the room immediately without bringing something will defend yourself.
Kise: Got it! And beside, I know how to run.
He walks away from us and looks for the gold coins based on what he memorized on the paper. In less than one minute, he gets back running in this way, so I bring out my gun and kill the three zombies who are chasing him.
He’s panting too much. What happened to him?
Kise: Thanks Kaede. To think that gun can kill the zombies.
Kaede: You are a runner, huh?
Kise: But my favorite sport was basketball. I’m just good at running. I didn’t expect that the zombies could easily destroy the glass.
Kaede: *stares* Did you peek inside the room?
Kise: *looking at the other side* Sort of...
Kaede: Anyway, did you get something?
Kise: I made a rush to look for the gold coins and got two of them. But there’s also two mysterious glass bottles I just saw, so I just take them.
Kaede: Can I see that glass bottle?
He took it out of his right pocket and gave it to me. The size of my little finger was like a tube with grayish liquid inside of the glass bottle. What is this? Some sort of trash or a dud? Anyway, we should use the two gold coins on the vending machine.
This time, we get two cans of soft drinks. I checked my phone, and we only have 3 minutes until the zombies are here. I drank half a soft drink, and when I shook it, I heard there was something inside the can. I spill the other half of the soft drink, and it drops a small tube with a note inside.
“Did you know? Carbon dioxide or sulfuric acid with a solution of sodium bicarbonate can affect the movements of the zombies."
Huh? What does this note mean? I should ask someone a student who knows about chemical things...
Chapter 6: Run and Survive
I’m in the clinic room now with all the student survivors here. There are 2 minutes left until the steel bars will open again and chase us once more. We are not scared anymore since we have already prepared ourselves. Let me tell you again about the survivors and the weapons they use.
Suzumiya Kaede is using an airsoft gun that can kill the zombies using round bullets. I still have more round bullets, but I almost ran out of blowback gas and already have a spare one.
Johan Liebert, using a real handgun with a real bullet that could damage the zombies, had a small chance to kill a zombie per hit.
Yumeko Jabami, using a baseball bat that can do damage and kill it easily, defeated the zombie with her strength. Should I be careful with her someday, I guess?
Kiyotaka Ayanokouji doesn’t have anything but confidence in his bare hands. It's still strange to me that he’s wearing a white mask with a smile. Good at fighting.
Kise Ryouta, using a metal pipe; I guess he can deal with the zombies. He was a good runner when he was chased by the zombies.
Belphegor uses a fire extinguisher that helps deal damage to a zombie when it has already been weakened by someone. She doesn't attack the zombie when it wasn’t weakened in the first place.
Tanya von Degurechaff doesn’t have any information about her. Maybe Belphegor knows about her since they already talked to each other.
Nezuko Kamado doesn’t have anything for her. She still suffered on her left arm with an open wound. I hope she gets better later.
Tanjiro Kamado uses a metal axe that can really kill a zombie. I just saw the blood dripping on his metal axe.
That’s the end of my description. Back to reality, we discovered something useful when I gave the medical bandages to Tanjiro and used them on her sister, Nezuko. After Tanjiro wraps around the left arm of his sister, the bandage suddenly disappears, and the wound can’t be seen anymore.
Tanjiro and Nezuko hug each other with their smiles. Of course, we felt relief after that, but we are running out of time. I checked the phone right now, and it’s starting the countdown with 30 seconds left. All of us made preparations outside of the clinic to make sure there’s nothing left behind.
While walking to the nearby staircase to the fourth floor, a noise coming from the zombies is increasing loudly. They are walking zombies. There’s nothing to be afraid of--
“Run!”
All of us are running and panicking at the same time. What the hell? The zombies are literally running from the first encounter. It was almost reaching us, so the close combat was engaging the zombie hordes while I was supporting them with the range combat. Johan doesn’t use much of his gun and joined as part of the close combat since he only has a few bullets left.
Kise and Tanya are looking for a place to hide in this area if we are encountering something like this and fighting continuously. Johan covers me when I’m reloading the gun. He also told me before that I should cool off the magazine or else it won’t use it anymore because of the cold effect from the blowback gas injected.
A few minutes later, we manage to defeat all the zombies. All of us are tired and Tanya told us they find a place to hide for now.
Belphegor: Guys! Check your emails! Another message appeared.
I took out my phone and checked the email.
[Was it fun? You manage to survive the horde of zombies and already think you’re already safe? Our entertainment is just the beginning. A second wave is coming. Be grateful that I’m still giving you an additional 15 minutes to prepare yourself. Good luck and have fun. Time remaining: 05:45:26 (7 students left)]
I’m getting mad and accidentally punching the wall. Of course it hurts, but the person behind those emails is crazy. They look at us like an experimental subject or a player in this game. This is reality, and that person expected us to survive? That’s bull--
Tanjiro: We need to move. We don’t have a choice but to move.
Kise: We should go to the hiding place in the faculty room. We need to make a plan and find the staircase to the fourth floor.
Tanya: Follow me; I’ll guide you there.
We are inside the faculty room. Johan, give us 3 minutes to rest our mind and body, and then we will make a plan.
Johan: The problem that we are dealing with right now is the speed of zombies. We need to come up with a plan to reduce them so that we can easily kill them.
Tanya: How are we going to do that? After the zombies run to Kise and Tanjiro and make a leap towards them, they can’t move much because of their strength. We can’t rely too much on Kaede’s gun because his bullets can run out anytime.
Kaede: How did you know that?
Tanya: You’re reloading the gun too slowly. Anytime, one of the close combatants will be killed. You should practice reloading your gun.

We already see the zombies on the other side, and it’s much faster than before. Kiyotaka and Belphegor are on the front, waiting for the zombies.
“Belphegor, give me that fire extinguisher you’re holding right now."
“Huh? Why all of a sudden?"
“Just do it, or I’ll throw you up on them.”
“Fine…”
Belphegor gives Kiyotaka her fire extinguisher and looks at him. He is still wearing that white mask, right? Same from my point of view.
Kiyotaka pulled the safety pin of the fire extinguisher while holding the hose. The zombies showed up and squeezed the handle of the fire extinguiser, which released the gas inside of it. The zombies are starting to walk toward us, and all of us are waiting to attack them. Kiyotaka didn’t make a sign, so not all of them are completely reducing their movement.
Kiyotaka sends a signal, and all of us attack the zombies. It easily defeated them for a few minutes. One zombie left, and Tanjiro is still fighting that zombie. The zombie moved slowly while Tanjiro took his own stance. I mean, he’s holding his axe upward and ready to swing the zombie.
“Tanjiro, what are you doing? Kill it!"
He rushed forward to a zombie and said “First Form: Water Surface Sla--“ when her sister suddenly pulled the back of Tanjiro’s collar at his back.
Nezuko: Would you stop mimicking your favorite line? You’re watching too much anime.
Tanjiro: B-But but but, I’m going to kill that zombie now. Let me do it. I want to do it with that line.
Nezuko: Kaede, please kill the last zombie. I’ll apologize to everyone about my brother’s habit.
I shot down the last zombie and started to move forward. I don’t want to look at my phone and see that there will be another wave of zombies.
Chapter 7: Out of Control
Kiyotaka is continuously using Belphegor’s fire extinguisher to reduce their movement on the third wave. This time we are going to run until the zombies are never seen again. The zombies slowly stop their movement, so we check to see if they are still alive. Of course, they are already dead! I just meant if there’s another trap that will happen after they stop their move.
The zombies instantly explode and release gas toward us. Too smelly and nauseous at the same time. After that, the gas disappeared.
Kaede: Everyone! Are you all right?
Johan: Yeah, we’re good.
Kiyotaka: I don’t smell anything.
Kise: That’s because you are wearing that mask. It’s unfair of us.
Tanya: Let’s move now. At least nothing happened after that.
We were almost reaching the staircase to the fourth floor when suddenly Nezuko held her head.
“Brother! My head hurts!”
“Brother, it hurts so much! AHHH! Help me!”
Tanjiro: I’m here, Nezuko. Where does it hurt?
Nezuko: My head… and my whole body… can’t move. What’s happening… to me…
Nezuko suddenly fainted on the floor. Tanjiro and others are helping to wake her up, but she’s still breathing. Is this the effect of the gas earlier? Nope, I don’t think so. If it does, then all of us should faint like her.
Nezuko’s eyes open instantly, and he starts attacking his brother, Tanjiro. She’s starting to bite her brother and acts like a zombie when attacking. I should shoot her. She’s already been infected by the gas.
Tanjiro: Nezuko! Stop it, Nezuko! Don’t attack my sister! I’ll handle this.
Kise: But you’re sister has already turned into a zombie. We need to kill her now.
Tanjiro: I know my sister well. She’s still alive. She’s been infected and acts like a zombie.
Johan: *pointing at Nezuko* If you can’t kill her, then I will kill her.
Tanjiro: Nooooo!!!
Tanjiro pushed her sister upward and fell to the ground. She instantly ran towards her brother and did their push-forward to each other. With Tanjiro’s strength, he pushed Nezuko again, but he didn’t see that it was toward Belphegor.
Belphegor instantly caught Nezuko, but she yelled loudly when Nezuko bit Belphegor on her right arm. Tanjiro held her sister and took a distance from everyone. All of us are taking our distance between Nezuko and Belphegor.
A noise from the hallway is coming towards us. It must be the yell from Belphegor, and the zombies know where we are now. Belphegor almost completely transforms into an infected zombie, just like Nezuko.
Kiyotaka grabbed Belphegor and locked him in his arms so that she wouldn’t make a move after her transformation into an infected zombie.
Kiyotaka: All of you head now to the staircase. Tanjiro and I will handle this.
Johan: What about the two of you?
Kaede: Are you both going to be all right?
Tanjiro: We’ll try to go follow all of you again. What’s the plan now, Kiyotaka?
Kiyotaka: We’ll jump! There’s no exit on either side.
Kaede: Are you insane? Both of you will die.
Kiyotaka: Who said I’m going to die? No one. We’ll be right back. Now go on. Move!

Kise gave his metal pipe to Tanya and ran inside the room. Another tile on the floor has been triggered, but she has already dodged it. And now she’s running from the two zombies.
The two zombies are already dead because of the traps triggered by Tanya. Did she already know where all the traps were from the start?
Tanya: I already switched off all the traps inside. You may come in now.
I’m going inside when someone pushes me, and all of us are already inside the room. Yumeko made a shush for a while, and we saw a zombie girl crawling like a spider. She saw us; she didn’t go inside, so I shot her and managed to dodge all my bullets. What?!
The zombie girl scares us and runs away. Peeking outside, she instantly attacked us and almost scratched my face. After that, she runs away once more.
Kaede: What the heck is that? It almost attacked my face.
Johan: Well, at least we are safe here. Maybe the red marks tell us that we are going to be safe and that thing will not attack us once we are inside this room.
Yumeko: How many hours do we have now?
Johan: At least 6 hours after we enter this fourth floor.
Kise: We should rest for an hour and then rush ahead to the fifth floor. That’s the last floor we need.
Kaede: Without Kiyotaka, no one else will scout what would be on the fifth floor.
Johan: We should worry about the two of them. I don’t think Kiyotaka and Tanjiro will survive.
Kaede: I believe in them. Especially Kiyotaka. I also believe that Belphegor and Nezuko will be alright.
Kise: Alright? Both Nezuko and Belphegor have already turned into infected zombies. We should already kill them before they turn into infected zombies.

Someone's POV:
Ouch! My butt hurts. Where am I now?
“Are you already awake?”
“Yeah…”
He throws me a rope. What should I do about this?
“Tied up you’re sister while she’s not awake. I already did it to that annoying girl. Belphegor, was it?”
“Oh yeah. Forgot about it.”
I tied my sister to the back of her hands and her mouth. I’m sorry, Nezuko, but this is for your own sake too.
“Where are we now, Kiyotaka?”
“Top of the white van. First floor in the middle of an open area.”
I look around, and there are so many zombies at the bottom. At this rate, we are going to be killed and eaten by them.
“What should we do now? Any ideas?”
Kiyotaka pulled something from the back of the van and gave it to me. A white fox mask?
“Wear it. That’s the ward mask, so they won’t attack us after we drop down.”
“Was it effective?”
“Don’t ask too much. Just wear it already."
I wore the white mask right now and put my sister down. After we got down, all the zombies didn’t attack us.
We walk past them without getting into a fight with them. Now I know why Kiyotaka was wearing that mask from the start. That’s reasonable and unfair to us. He should tell us from the beginning.
“Where are we going now?”
“Science Laboratory”
I don’t want to ask about it, but if it’s related to my sister and Belphegor, then this is all alright. A few minutes later...
“We’re here. Lay them down on the floor.”
“Okay. What are we going to do now?”
He shows the mysterious glass bottle holding it and puts it on the table. He also got a microscope, a syringe, and a glass plate.

After getting the blood of my sister, Nezuko was looking into my eyes while raging her body. It’s a good thing that I tied up her feet when we got here in the science laboratory. I gave the syringe to Kiyotaka after setting up the microscope.
Kiyotaka slid a drop of blood from the syringe onto a glass plate and slid it onto the specimen stage. He looks at the eyepiece of the microscope and turns the objective lens clockwise. After that, he takes another syringe and gets the fluid from the mysterious glass bottle.
He put a drop of fluid on the same glass plate and looked at the microscope again. His eyes widened after that.
“I knew it.”
“Knew what, Kiyotaka?”
“This Kaede’s mysterious glass bottle, he told me, was the cure for the infected zombies.”
“Really? So that means my sister and Belphegor will be cured and turn back to human?”
“Yeah. I’m going to dilute the cure first since this was a total concentration. From what I observe on the microscope, the blood changes after I drop the fluid from the mysterious glass bottle but after a few seconds, the red blood cells get darker and instantly die. Platelets can’t recover the RBC to stay alive so..."
I don’t understand what he is talking about, especially when it comes to science. I’m glad there is a cure for my sister. Kiyotaka takes a small cylindrical glass and puts it on the table. He measured the fluid at one-eight before putting it inside. He added half of the water from a small graduated cylinder before mixing it using a stirring rod.
I took from the drawer of another two syringes and gave them to Kiyotaka. He's now extracting the diluted cure that he made. Kiyotaka gave me one of the syringes so that I could inject it into my sister. He’ll inject the other one into Belphegor.
Two minutes later, the effect of the cure has been changed, and both of them are already conscious
now. I removed the rope from her mouth and suddenly talked about what happened. I hugged her and cried because I thought my sister would be gone forever. I don’t want to be alone without my sister.
Tanjiro: Kiyotaka, is Belphegor already turned into a human?
Kiyotaka: **noded**
Belphegor: What happened to me? I only remember that we were in the hallway when suddenly Nezuko attacked you, Tanjiro. And I caught Nezuko by my arms, but she bit me. Wait, where’s that bite mark? I can’t see it.
Kiyotaka: I already patched your right arm. You are good now.
Belphegor: Oh, thanks.
Nezuko: I’m sorry, Belphegor. I was out of consciousness after my eyes went black until my body moved. I was here in this room. I don’t know what happened to me after I got blacked out.

The phone suddenly vibrates, so I put the katana inside the scabbard first and put it on the waist using the hanging cord. I look down at the notifications and turn off the phone. I don’t want to believe what I receive from the notification. Why? That’s because this is not what I expected after receiving this katana!
Nezuko: Brother, is something wrong?
Tanjiro: I’m okay, sister. Don’t worry about me. It’s just about the katana I received from the notification.
Kiyotaka: We should go outside now and test the new items we receive.

The four of us agreed to go outside. Outside of the science laboratory, zombies are everywhere, away from us. What should we do now?
Tanjiro: So who’s going to test out first? Kiyotaka?
Kiyotaka: Yeah, I’ll go. Stay there and protect the girls.
Belphegor: *punch the wall* Dang it--?!
After Belphegor punches the wall, it makes a hole where zombies attract us after the bricks fall to the ground. What the heck is happening? Did the cure that we injected into them amplify their strength? I thought Kiyotaka was already a diluted solution.
The zombies are approaching us, and they are walking. If Belphegor’s punch can destroy the wall, does that mean Nezuko can do that too?
Chapter 10: Revolver and Katana
The zombies have surrounded us, and there’s no way we can escape by running. So--
Kiyotaka: Tanjiro, want to compete with me?
Tanjiro: Competition? For what?
Kiyotaka: The two of us who can kill the zombies will be the winner.
Tanjiro: Okay, then. I won’t lose to you.
I rush forward to the zombies who are closest to us and start an attack. One diagonal swing attack instantly cut half of the body. Swinging vertically next to a zombie was also cut in half. This katana was sharp, huh? Very sharp katana, and it doesn’t stain blood on it. Now I have two kills. What about--?

Running in the hallway to the third floor, Kiyotaka is the only person who kills the most zombies on this floor. On the third floor, a screaming girl is running toward us.

The crawling zombie climbs up the wall and jumps towards me, but then Belphegor’s strong kick takes it to the hallway. Also, in the blink of my eyes, Nezuko was already following the crawling zombie while in mid-air and punching it down to the floor.
A punch from Nezuko to the crawling zombies shows an impact on the floor, making a huge crack. The face of the crawling zombie was already crushed by my sister, and the floor made a big hole. Nezuko almost falls off and holds her right arm. Man, that cure was lacking in strength.
Kiyotaka has already found the staircase that leads to the final floor. At last, we can now escape this building. But as we reached the fifth floor, a big door was closed and couldn’t be moved by push or pull.
Belphegor tried to push or pull the big door, but it wouldn’t move. When Nezuko joins in, they can’t move the door. But when they made a strong kick at the same time, both doors instantly moved and opened. What a power of their strength!
“Aaaackk!! I can’t move! My body! It’s squeezing my body!” A man screaming while he’s in the right hand of a big bald zombie?!
Kiyotaka: Tanjiro, I’ll leave that to you.
Tanjiro: Huh?! Why? Why me?
Kiyotaka: I’ll join Kaede and another group. I’ll back them up.
Tanjiro: You should make a shot at that big, bald zombie. After all, your revolver can instantly kill that big, bald zombie.
Kiyotaka: Too bad. I am already out of bullets. My revolver is now useless. I can only fight with my bare hands.
He killed every zombie on every floor. He’s the only person who killed the most. What should I do now? At this rate, that man will be squished like a pumpkin, and his blood already makes him vomit.

Kaede’s POV
We are now on the fifth floor, at the front of the big door. Wait? Did I say the fifth floor? How did we end up here? Well, it’s a very fast story.
How? We just run faster than the crawling zombie. With the help of Kise, finding other red marks, and disabling all of the traps by Tanya, we manage to escape from that crawling zombie.
Before entering this big door room, we are preparing ourselves for what lies in there. I was expecting that the other side of this door would be the rooftop and a vehicle-like helicopter that would escape from this building. But from what we encounter from the first up to the fourth floor? I don’t think so.
I’m guessing this will be harder than on the lower floors.
Kaede: Are you all guys ready?
Kise: Yeah, but... should we wait for them? Tanjiro and the others might still be alive.
Johan: I think they are already dead and have turned into zombies just like them.
Tanya: Don’t be so sure, Johan. Look at the time remaining and the survivors left. Everyone…
I took out my phone and looked the remaining time.

Kise: They’re still alive? That’s great news!
Kaede: Yeah.
Yumeko: Shall we go in? I want to go home. I already prepared myself.
Johan: Wait a minu—
Yumeko opens the door. It was a very dark room inside, so all of us opened our phones and made a flashlight. Once all of us were inside, the door automatically closed, and we tried to open it again but failed.
A light torch appeared and was lit one by one clockwise. This is the biggest room that we enter in this area.
Tanya: There! I saw the exit!
Tanya ran to the other side, where the door was. She tried to open it but failed. Are we trapped in here?

“ROOOAARRR!!!”
My ears went hurt after hearing that voice Looking at the appearance, it’s a muscular person and taller than us. He’s a bald zombie. A bald zombie.
A bald zombie takes charge of us and it’s now toward Tanya.
“Move away, Tanya!”
“WOAAAHHH!!”
She manages to dodge the bald zombie by rolling and running toward us. I shoot it out with my gun and it deals great damage. This will be easy for us. I guess after killing this bald zombie will unlock the door and that will be our finish line.
“Yumeko! Kise! Take that down!”
Both of them rush in and Yumeko is on the lead. She’s also reading the bald zombie’s attack, dodging and attacking by pattern.
Kise, on the other hand, makes a fighting combat to make an open attack for Yumeko. He swung up his metal pipe to his neck and Yumeko made a fast swing at the bald zombie head. It was beheaded and the head dropped on the floor.
All of us cheer filled with joy that we can now escape this building.
Kise: Uhh guys? This bald zombie is regenerating.
Tanya: The bald zombie is growing bigger and look at his arms! They are now four arms.
Tanya’s right. The bald zombie evolves into a big four-eyed bald zombie. I should call it a big bald zombie. It’s too long to say…
Yumeko runs to the big bald zombie but after a big swing, the baseball bat breaks up after that hit. She tries to dodge the attack of that big bald zombie but fails and immediately takes damage and Yumeko faints.
Johan goes to Yumeko to support her and he tells us that she’s still conscious. I’m glad she’s still alive.
“AAAACCKKK!!” a scream from Kise has been got by the big bald zombie using his right hand. It squeezes Kise and his blood is vomiting too much. He’s going to die sooner or later.
“Back!! I can’t move! My body! It’s squeezing my body!” He’s shouting with fear in his voice.
I’m shooting at his right arm and take a light damage but it also takes regen and almost healed.
What should I do? WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!!
“[Second Form: Water Wheel]”
A person in mid-air appeared while holding a katana sword and doing a front flip made a big cut to the bald zombie’s right arm. The way he cut it with a flow like a blue water effect released by that katana. A bald zombie was enraged while holding his cut right arm and the person who held the katana was Tanjiro Kamado. So they are alive. Thank goodness.
Kise was still unconscious after checking him. His body was almost crushed by that bald zombie. I’m pulling up Kise’s body and taking care of him. I used all the bandages on Kise and slowly healed up.
The bald zombie slowly regenerated his right arm and made a war cry that summoned all the zombies around him to arise. I counted them all and to be precise, it was 23 zombies all of them. They are now attacking us.
I was holding the gun and shooting at them and suddenly got stopped. My gun won’t work and I’m out of blowback gas. I still have round bullets though but I still want to help.
“Kaede!! Catch!”
I looked behind and it was Belphegor. She throws up the canister of the same blowback gas. I immediately catch it. I thank her and run through the horde of zombies like wha--? I’m just seeing her right now after she made a strong punch, the zombie flew to the wall and made a crack. What’s going on?
Tanjiro runs towards a horde of zombies while raising his katana on stance above the right shoulder. He just does a zigzag with another blue effect something and says…
“[Third Form: Flowing Dance]”
All of the 13 zombies have been beheaded and he steps backward to cool himself down. That move was instantly killed with that skill. It was amazing! After the bald zombie completely healed the right arm, it ran forward to us and made a big leap. Tanjiro made another stance and made a jump towards the bald zombie with a big slash on the body saying “[Fourth Form: Striking Tide]” before taking damage to the bald zombie. A deep cut open to a bald zombie but still regenerating his body. Still alive after that?
The bald zombie almost got healed when Tanjiro did his “[First Form: Water Surface Slash]” to behead but also instantly regenerated. Is this bald zombie immortal? There has to be a way to weaken and kill it. But how?
“Tanjiro! Try to destroy the heart and the head at the same time!” Tanya shouted to Tanjiro and agreed with it. Tanjiro took another stance with his katana and rushed forward to a bald zombie.
“[Tenth Form: Constant Flux]” a blue head water effect appeared in front of my eyes that directly hit and made a big hole at the breast where the heart is.
Tanjiro: Now the head part! [Seventh Form: Drop Ripple--]…
“Don’t forget the real main protagonist here…”

The head of the bald zombie suddenly burst and was destroyed in one shot. In just a blink of my eyes, I saw Kiyotaka run and did an acrobatics on the ceiling. While falling to the ground, he made a shot from his gun that destroyed the head of the bald zombie.
The bald zombie’s body fell to the ground and didn’t take a regeneration anymore. So this is the end? Finally! We are safe now!
Tanjiro fell to the ground while holding his katana. Nezuko runs toward his brother. Well, it’s a brother and sister moment so I’ll leave it to them for now. I look over to Kise but I guess he can stand now and move normally. Thanks to the bandages, I guess…
I walked toward Johan and Yumeko if they were right and yeah they were right. We also take a break after that fight. Soon, the other side of the door was opened but we didn’t go outside for now. We just want to take a rest. My phone vibrated and I looked at the email.
“Congratulations! You made it through the end. The escape door has been opened and the team rescue still waiting at the rooftop outside. [Time remaining: 00:37:56 (9 students left)]”
I guess that’s the end of this floor huh…

Chapter 12A: Ending
All of us are walking towards the rooftop outside. We survive until the end huh? I thought we were going to die. Two helicopters are waiting for us. That’s the team rescuer I guess…
Let me tell you what Kiyotaka and Tanjiro weapons they used earlier at the bald zombie. This information I got from Nezuko and Belphegor after they stalked their phones.
Let’s talk about Kiyotaka’s weapon which is his revolver gun. Although it looks normal to me the bullet he used was a Penetration Bullet that instantly killed a zombie in one shot and it can be passed through on it. According to Belphegor, Kiyotaka saves one penetration bullet to his pocket and tells a lie to Tanjiro before he leaves that scene. She asked Kiyotaka about saving one bullet but he didn’t make a response about it.
Next, about Tanjiro’s weapon which is a Katana sword. According to Nezuko, Tanjiro’s katana he holds was not the ordinary katana. It was a Nichirin Sword to be specific. He also received from the email a skill called “Water Breathing Techniques” which I don’t know what was. Maybe it relates to what he shouted like second or fourth form something. She also says that when he does that skills, he hypes up and gets motivated.
“Come on! Hurry up!” The pilot was signaling us to go forward in that direction. Kise, Kiyotaka, Belphegor, Nezuko, and Johan are taken inside the helicopter while me, Yumeko, Tanya, and Tanjiro are still walking.
“Run everyone! A horde of zombies are running towards all of you!” I looked behind it and saw the horde of zombies chasing us. We were running towards the helicopter and I was the last person who was running. The three of them are already inside the helicopter while I’m still running. I’m so slow.
“Wait for me!” The helicopter starts the engine and starts to fly off the building. I gave my best to run and right after the helicopter off the building, I made a big leap and held both of my hands at the helicopter's landing skids. Yumeko and Tanjiro helped me up and all the zombies they chased on us jumped and fell to the ground from the rooftop.

Chapter 12B: Alternative Ending
“Come on! Hurry up!” The pilot was signaling us to go forward in that direction. Kise, Kiyotaka, Belphegor, Nezuko, and Johan are taken inside the helicopter while me, Yumeko, Tanya, and Tanjiro are still walking.
“Run everyone! A horde of zombies are running towards all of you!” I looked behind it and saw the horde of zombies chasing us. We were running towards the helicopter and I was the last person who was running. The three of them are already inside the helicopter while I’m still running. I’m so slow.
“Wait for me!” The helicopter starts the engine and starts to fly off the building. I gave my best to run and right after the helicopter off the building, I made a big leap and held both of my hands at the helicopter's landing skids.
Suddenly, I feel someone grab my right leg. It was a zombie who held it and it was too heavy. I think I can’t hold it anymore. I’m about to fall off.
“Yumeko, help me up. It’s too hard to hold on.” I shouted to Yumeko and made a response. She holds me in both of my arms and slowly takes me up. But then, Yumeko suddenly makes a big smile and looks down on me like she’s plotting something.
“Gomenasai~~ Sayonara~~” She let go of both of my arms and I fell to the ground.
Ahhhhh…. It hurts! My body! I can’t move! My body… can’t move…
I barely opened my eyes and saw a lot of zombies coming to me.
No… Stay away from me… I don’t want to be killed… I don’t wanna be one of them…
I guess Yumeko betrayed me and fell to the ground. All the bones inside the body get crushed and the blood are flowing to the ground. My eyes get blurry and the last thing I remember is that the zombies are starting to eat me…

Chapter 13: Epilogue
Someone’s POV
Somewhere at the hidden base…
I’m walking right now in the main lobby waiting for them and talk about the event we managed to survive. It was really fun as always. Well, thanks to the leader who made a plan to invite a random student to our main stage which is the Hikari Academy.
I love the plot scenes that they give the efforts and levels of a zombie on every floor give me motivation. But I guess they are still weak for them to me.
“Lame… I’ll give it a 7/10. It’s too easy to play that game.” Is he already inside the main lobby? As expected of him.
“Yeah, I know. But the way you move on that final boss… uhh the bald zombie was a good shot.”
“Stop praising me. I know that the final boss was too weak. After all, I should be the main protagonist of this game, right Tanya von Degurechaff?”
“Yeah yeah, I already know that. You don’t have to say again, Kiyotaka Ayanokouji.”
“Anyways, where’s the leader? I still need to complain about the event. That was not entertaining to me.”
“Leader will be here at any moment… Oh, there she is!”
She walks past us and sits like a queen on a sofa. From her face, I know that she’s satisfied after the event.
“So, how it is? Was it fun?”
Tanya: It was really fun--
Kiyotaka: Lame… It didn’t entertain me well.
“Oh? How come? After spreading the SGD4 - Blue Pedelian virus outside our students inside the gym received the invitation about a sudden event. All the floors with the designated levels of a zombie are really strong.”
Kiyotaka: I know what you were pointing at but still it’s too weak for me to fight against the horde of zombies.
Tanya: Leader, maybe you shouldn’t give that revolver weapon after that hidden quest if it’s too easy on him.
Kiyotaka: Yeah fine. Maybe I can’t kill the surrounded zombies after all without the revolver.
“Then, are you still unsatisfied with that event?”
Kiyotaka: No… I’m good and I don’t have any complaints anymore, Yumeko Jabami…
“That’s good to hear. I don’t wanna make bloodstains on your face or turn you into one of a zombie.”
Tanya: Yumeko, I already sent invitations to random students. What’s the next move?
Yumeko: Already? That’s fast. As expected of you, Tanya. Well done.
Tanya: Hehe thanks!
Yumeko: Same plan as always. We are going to run the event until all the students turn them into zombies.
Kiyotaka: Well, good luck with your success. I’m out for now. I need to rest after that event. The main protagonist needs to rest so bye-bye…
Tanya: Bye, Kiyotaka!!
And he left. The leader, Yumeko, and both of us so-called “observers” are part of this event. As for the history, there are 3 - 6 students who survived this event and are already inside the shelter to rest. And after that, we are going to make experiments on them just like we did on the other survivors in the last event.
