Does anyone run an external GPU on their recent-year Apple machine?

 

IIRC, about 3-4 years ago, Apple was selling plug and play extrrnal gpu kits from its website, but then they changed their chips, and changed their internal GPU specs on the MacPlus and the MacBook Pro, and the GPU units disappeared from their online store

 

Whats the 2024-2025 meta on external GPU with newer Apples ?
