NPC attacks?

Is attacking an NPC worth the trouble. I jumped in on a couple of loot ranger attacks but got nothing out of it. Am I doing something wrong, or is it even worth doing?

I mean not really other than getting a couple merits out of it and then using them for other attack specific merits since they have high HP and you can get a lot of hits per attack on them.

You have the chance to loot some stuff; though most of it is pretty insignificant aside from the holiday NPCs.  iirc the more hits you make, the higher chance you have of looting something. 

Assuming you haven't actually been playing for 3700 days, you're better off just training with your energy imo.

pretty much only do it for the merits when you're done with that theres no point in attacking again since the chances of looting something from npcs are very low

Everyone who makes hits has a chance of looting, with the more hits you make/more damage you deal supposedly giving you a better chances to win. It’s a mini lottery each time with 4 prizes to win (still a lot better chances than casino slots/lotto… I’ve won loot about 1 out of every 30 attacks). 

It’s not worth it financially, just do it for fun or if you have a mission that requires you to shoot a lot of ammo.

Thanks for the reply. No I started playing 10 years ago, made it to level 7, then forgot torn existed till about 2 months ago
