Hey there, i think that there should be a few seconds of invulerability after getting out of hosp or after med'ing out. I usually get hit before the travel-page has even been loaded yet.

Sometimes it takes 1-2 seconds for the page to load. Yes, it doesn't sound like a lot but if there is a whole faction looking at you, it is a lot. I tried everything to make it load faster... disabled all user scripts, closed everything else, even wrote a chrome addone which blocks everything but the necessary request for the page itself and no other requests (e.g. chat).

We do have the period when landing, so why don't we just add the period to every scenario which makes us vulnerable? Ot at least allow us to setup travel when we are in the hosp... ^^"

Nope, nope, not necessary, and I'll agree with a fair chunk of people in saying even the travel protection is hand-holdy.

There's risk in this game. Find other ways of mitigating it or dealing with it.

Getting a random several second load time when trying to travel after med'ing out is not a "risk", it's a flaw and it especially sucks for people who are not even close to any servers.

But ok sure... let's say it's totally fair and as intended... what would be the ways to mitigate or deal with something which i have absolutely no control over?

VinceGhi has a point here. If you're in Torn City, you can med out on your own timetable. Unless someone is actively watching you (a tremendous use of one's personal time), you can usually med out and do whatever you need to do - deposit cash, take a flight somewhere else, whatever - before someone else can snipe you.

When you're out of Torn City, in any other city, you don't have that ability. Unless someone else who is in the same location revives you (something that's hard to do at a moment's notice), a would-be stalker knows exactly when you're going to get out of the hospital, and only needs to pay attention to your page when you're expected to revive, and can reliably attack you faster than you can get back on the plane.

It'd be nice for the foreign cities to be on the same playing field as Torn City.

They see the counter when i get out, it requires them two clicks to attack me and they can "preclick" the attack-button... and on the other hand.. i can't preclick anything.. HAVE to reload the page manually because otherwise it takes to long, click "Travel Agency", have to wait again and click 3 times to travel... if there is a war and 5 people are watching me... one of them will get a fast load time and will most certainly attack me before the travel page has even loaded for me.

And honestly... that sucks

Do you have travel directly linked or are you going through the city?

Running away from RW isn't an intended strategy, it's an opportunist strategy. Making it too easy to leave Torn would actually ruin a lot of the fun of RW. I assume it's RW situations that are a problem for you. If so...

  1. Don't med out all at once. If someone sees your hosp tike dropping they will know it's time to attack. If you can bring it down to 1 more med item and stop, they may think you are maxed out and consider the time remaining to be a necessity to wait for, and possibly put their focus somewhere else. Giving you time to med and run a couple minutes later

2. Med out with others so you're not the o ly target.

3. Let yourself go orange. People watch green.

4. Actually coordinate with your faction and fight the war or have a negotiated strategy to lose. It sounds like you're just doing things your way and not being particularly a team player.

Elizabeth [2339829]

Well obviously there's risk, because people are attacking you, you're upset about it, and here you are. If there wasn't a risk involved, there wouldn't be a problem and you wouldn't be posting here. Or at least, you wouldn't be posting about this anyways.

Mitigating the risk of being attacked is pretty easy. Stop doing things that make you a target. When I sat in New Players Chat, one of the things we told new players that struggled with being hospitalized was to lay low. Don't talk in global, don't pick fights with people, don't carry large amounts of cash on you, don't get into wars, just lay low. Or don't. And then deal with the consequences of your actions. There's trade offs to everything. I know full well that I'm going to eat my words by saying this, but I get attacked rather rarely these days. I don't make myself a target, therefore people don't tend to target me. Every now and again, a lucky mugger gets a payday and they'll continue to attack me until they realize that they really did just get lucky. But even with my questionable internet connection and frequently crashing laptop, I don't struggle with these things.

Lay low.

  1. If I catch someone medding out and they stop I wait 1 minute for them to get out before moving on. Good strategy
  2. Also great strategy
  3. Great strategy but even after 5 years I haven’t figured out how on mobile, please enlighten me
  4. doing this makes point 2 possible
  5. check to see if the opps top hitters (or at least the ones who have been sitting on you) are in hospital or don’t have a green light, even if it’s for a second.

You don’t have to be strong to succeed, just play smarter
