You talking about the anonymity fee? It makes it so the buyer can't tell who they are buying from, so they can't mug you afterwards. Usually it is marginally better than getting mugged and you won't get mugged if you know how to self-hosp or time it with your flights. Or if the juice isn't worth the squeeze. No one is buymugging the guy that sold a few plushies.
A fee? Depends on what you are selling. Anonymous fee is good for high risk item selling.
Now if you are referring to market fee, starting at 1% soon, then that is not optional.
There is no need for Fee.

If you are talking about the anonymity fee, for most items you'd get a better deal just selling to a trader.
Hurts me to see people listing stuff that's already less than I'd pay them for it, with anon on top of that, so they are REALLY getting a lot less than they could.
