I’ve never owned anything with a turbo charger befor but recently bought a Civic Si that has one. Any tips for upkeep and caring for them? I hear it’s good to let them warm up a little befor a ride and cool down after, but other than that I really don’t know anything.

I've run heavy equipment since I was young. I was told as a kid to let it idle at least 1 minute after starting it and let it idle 1 minute before shutting it off. This was to let the oil pump get oil to the turbo before you spooled it up. Now that was with old diesels so it might be a bit different. But it's proven either way turbo or not 1 minute of warmup or cooldown significantly reduces engine wear. Otherwise just drive it as normal.
And make sure to change the oil roughly every 3 - 4 k miles
Follow your manufacturer's maintenance schedule. Modern turbos are water cooled, so the 1 minute cooldown before shutoff isn't important.
What *is* important is using the right oil. Modern turbos are designed to make power over a very wide rpm range, often producing max torque as low as 2000rpm. This makes them prone to something called "low speed pre-ignition." This condition can cause major engine damage, and poor quality oils contribute to the chances of your engine experiencing failure. Stick to a major brand and look for oils designed for modern turbo engines, most are clearly labelled.
