I've been running a grocery store for a while. i cant offer much pay, caps at 100k per employee.

i give my employees free rotaional trains. currently everyone gets a guaranteed train every second day. i have 11/12 employees. and any extra trains go to increase anyone of the newer members to increase their stats.

stock costs around 700k daily and ad revenue is at 2m.

and have basucally been running at a loss since day 1.

What should i change or do i have to wait until 10* until i turn a profit?

Evry company will have u lose $ up to a certain point. As u said, that threshold for ur industry is 10*. Can b earlier if u decide to sell trains.

With that in mind, if ur not committed to a 10* push, u'll always lose ppl to better offers

Grocery stores don't usually pay employees after 7* as the E can perk is plenty for pay. With that being said depending on where you are hung up you may need to dabble with prices and advertisements with the idea of a loss being acceptable during testing to increase your gross income.

Your employees are holding you back and you probably can't compensate with ad budget. Keep building them up or start replacing them. I'd probably aim for ~30-40k main stat for any new hires, but I don't have much grocery experience. Try dropping your ad budget for a day and see if you can maintain your current star, if so there's no reason to increase it until you have better employees.

Comment made about 7 and no salary is actually sweet shop and doesn't apply for grocery store. Companies that require 10 (can of energy drink) run at a loss until you hit 10. (good employees won't join and you can only compensate with salary).  At 10, you can start replacing employees with 0 salary employees and sell trains to offset the cost of advertising. Unfortunately, running at a loss is not uncommon for companies that require 10 (fitness center, game shop, etc.)

Your company is 5 years 8 months old.

You are i a great position to reach and stay at 10 stars.

Talk to someone who has/had a GC and ask for help.

I believe if you are dedicated and have the time, you can reach 10* within 2-3 weeks.

Once there, renegotiate wages and look for better stat workers.

Good luck 🍻🙂
