Just gonna share a little drama here, nothing special or big.

So, I'm in this Discord server which is for people to rent a PI for around six months until you've paid enough money and you get to own it. The owner of that business hosted a giveaway, which we need to pay 15m to join to enter a giveaway for a chance to win a PI with the airstrip upgrade only.

Some of us got into a little argue with this being a rip-off (especially for newbies) since the owner will only start the draw when there is 60 people (which gives him around 375 mil in profit). Then, one of their mods popped out and started arguing too (though the chat has been cleaned up by the owner).

Guess what? He told one of the members who was complaining about it to "self-delete" and said "f*** you all" before leaving the server. (though I'm not able to post the old chat logs since it has all got deleted.) I know that I don't have to join the raffle if I don't like it, but yeah, was just tryna justify that it's kind of a rip off and warn some newbies to not gamble away 15mil for this (still, I kind of have some fault in this situation to be honest).

And yes, I know I'm whiny about the whole raffle thing, but I think telling someone to kill themselves and telling us to f**k ourselves is kind of over the top in my opinion, especially we all got banned afterwards for a few hours most likely by him (though most of us were able to get back into the server afterwards).

Now he's back, we gave him a lil mocking and got threatened to get a timeout/ban, how ironic.

Update: Well, got timed out by him for 7 days. Dude was acting all aggressive and now trying to act like a chill guy, what a guy.

Sounds spicy but you need to sprinkle in some screenshots and include names then maybe I will consider this drama as something worth eating.

There's definitely a player that does this, i've seen it, and it's legitimate.

But what strikes me as odd is that the noob OP seems to think that it's a scam for the player to hold a raffle. Since we don't have any details about the player and can't see the island that's up for auction it's hard to say if the auction is a hoax or not. 

Not sure how he's coming to 375mil profit since 15mil x 60 = 900mil... so 525mil is the presumed island value. A lot of unknowns.

Your screenshots are all of you getting muted... What about the PI raffle? 

Literally nobody cares about your mute. 

Seems to actually get the pi if they make the payments... but the player is paying significantly more than if they just rented and saved up to buy one.

And? Owner is obligated to perform charity and organise a draw for cost? 15m is not very much money if you fly.

So? He's offering a 525mil PI for 600mil. You get to buy into the chance to own it. You are not obligated to enter. 

There's no rule saying that someone cannot sell something for profit. Most people in that server are there specifically because they do not have the money to straight up buy a PI. They are there because they can't. 

The dude is just running a raffle. It's a raffle, not a giveaway. He's under no obligation to sell it for less than it's value. You mouthed off about it in the server, likely went off the rails, and got muted. And now you're here trying to throw shade at the guy. You're making an absolute fool of yourself. 

You need to understand what is "raffle" first.

Well, I mean, you got a PI after 6 month rent right? 6 month rent, then the next rent will pay for PI itself (like a installment payment) Its already a good business, good for you, good for discord owner too, everythings seems profitable enough
