I've hit over 5k damage for a couple of monts now and still havent been gotten the merit. just wondering if i did somthing wrong, or need to hit exactly 5k

You need to do 5k damage by yourself, without passive effects like bleeding. The max damage stat does count passive effects tho, so can't judge your eligibility by that stat.
Your highest damage was acquired using passive effects like Poison/Burn etc. If you do not have the award, it means you did not do 5k raw damage to your opponent.
