A few notes on Ranked Wars:

I understand why points were removed from faction rewards but I think a small change could be made. When seeing our recent war result event:

"Monarch Research ranked down from Diamond III to Diamond II and received 13,218 bonus respect, 0 points, 7x Armor Cache, 4x Medium Arms Cache, 2x Melee Cache, 3x Small Arms Cache"

The "0 points" stipulation seems superfluous as it stands, but overall the event notification gave me a few ideas...(these are just basic ideas very much open to input or suggestions).

In most cases with wars (termed or not), you often see the same larger stat members doing many hits while smaller stat members either assist (if they are keen to join in) or for those less sure of themselves and their stats who just stay out of it by either travelling/bountying/self-hosping or getting merc'd as an alternative to being curb-stomped all war.

IDEA 1: Introduce a "POINTS ROULETTE"

Points Roulette in a nutshell:

Everyone who made say 10-20 hits/assists (or a minimum of 500e spent) is entered into the draw and randomly 2-10 people in that draw (1-5 per team) gets say 420 points (a weeks worth of energy and nerve refills). This would mean everyone gets a shot at a worthwhile bonus that could possibly encourage people to participate.

IDEA 2: "JOUSTING / CHAMPIONS"

This may take some fleshing out but the basic premis would be to pre-select 3 pairs of combatants who would have there own mini war within the war. These pairs would be made up of evenly stated players from both sides. Due to stat variations there would need to be "weight classes" so to speak... 1st pair (Heavy Weight) on the upper end of the stat divide, 2nd pair Medium Weight) from the middle and then the 3rd pair (Light Weight) from the lower end.

Basically these pairs would get extra points for attacking each other (their weight class opponent) but fewer points for hitting others (as well as others getting fewer points for hitting them, so they are encouraged to be left to duke it out between each other). The victor from each pair (biggest point scorer in each class) will get a prize of say 240 points. This would introduce an opportunity for teams to cheer on their champions and perhaps get some hype going pre/during wars as well as include lower stat players who are so often overlooked in wars.

IDEA 3: Introduce "DECLARED RESULTS"

Allow factions to just declare their result when they are ready.

A common issue with wars now is not the fact that they are either termed or not, it's participation. Often in a termed war there is a set level of respect each side aims for before hostilities cease followed by the subsequent wait for results/payday. During non-termed/standard wars it is normally a combination of activity and energy usage that wins the day and there often comes a point where one side is clearly beaten with no hope of victory. In both instances it would be good if they were allowed to just declare their result and end the war there and then. Keep ranking/paydays as they are if need be.

Final thought:

I know there has been plenty of talk about "termed wars = bad" and "standard wars = honourable" but really on the face of it, few of us are chasing the accolade of being ranked super high... we are in actual fact chasing the high reward tier that is linked to the accolade. In short, termed wars are just an efficient ratio of energy spent for cash gained. It is just an elaborate version of the script that shows cash gain per nerve spent.

TLDR;

Idea 1 - Participation based Points Roulette

Idea 2 - Champion fights for selected members

Idea 3 - Declaring war results early

Thanks for reading my wall of text... gotta get back to my wheel for those gains!
