I've done a lolli jump a couple of times now to get my happiness to 99,999 with the help of an Ecstasy, but haven't received the merit for Ecstatic yet, Does it need to be through a different method?

No, you just need to reach maximum (99,999) happy.
You need to get to 99,999, not 9,999. You won't get to 99k with a lolly jump, double check your digits

different things give different happy if you max lollipops 25happy x 50lollipops is only 1250happy
100 happy for 50 truffles is 5000 happy
edvd 2500 happy max of 5 is 12500
then you take an ecstacy pill to double it
where you live all have different levels of happy you start off at too.
Idk what else it takes to actually reach the 99,999..I suppose job perks later or some other items with different cool downs..
