The industry is cruel, and you have to be mentally strong to survive it. All of these shadowy groups coming up to you (Monarch or not) trying to convince you to say this, say that, be this stupid animal with funny colour text. Before you know it everyone sees you as this big jester and no matter how many times you try to tell them the truth or be serious they just point and laugh and make some dumb joke about cooking you or killing your mom :(
