dex vs def

Ive been switching between def and dex constantly and its really hindering my progression. Both builds have their own flaws and they are not small..

Dex- there arent many players with high speed, but it scales poorly, requires vanguard or delta set and most importantly even if you have trillion dex, you can get 1 shot by average player using sureshot. With more caches coming in weekly sureshot will become more popular..

Def- scales well, no rng. Downside: a lot of players have high str and looking at top 100 players, there are like 10-20 str whores. It also seems like str is 2nd stat that people train/boost so there will be more players to deal with high def whores. So it seems even with 100b def id get squashed pretty easily.

The reason why im bringing up those big numbers is that I have a solid plan to reach over 100b stats, but I just cant pick the stat. Its gone to the point where im considering str whore build 😂

Untill your at 1bn in each stat... It really shouldn't even be something your considering.

You can train def.. but repeat hits will wear your life out.

You can tran Dex.. but one hit will wipe you out.

Untill you have a solid foundation, whoring is largely pointless imo

Unless your plan involves getting hundreds of billions of dollars and SE in just a couple years, there's no reason to whore a stat early on

Baldrs str ratio is pretty good because it allows you to hit hard, train with special gyms and it is close enough to balanced that by the time you are ready to SE you wont need to spend much time catching up whatever stat you want to whore. 

It's the forever dilemma. I started out as a glass cannon, but I ran into a wall pretty quickly.

Focus on one stat and you'll be able to grow increasingly fast in terms of totals. And the special gyms incentivize anything but balanced, while it's still the most effective build against anything uneven in the same bracket. 

Lastly there are merits for reaching one billion in each stat so do that first. Then figure out where you want to go from there. 

Whether you go with dex or def, know this: there is no wrong answer. Just stick to a build, and stop questioning the choice. For most players with no plan to whore a stat quickly pass 100b, the difference is dex = dodging attacks while killing until someone lands a critical hit to the head vs def = killing while dying slowly from multiple attacks but dying regardless. 

The only thing I can assure you is sure shot will never be popular perk xD Only niche. Imagine buying a weapon where the max you can hope for is 2.5 attack in 25 turns if you have a red rifle and spend upward of 8b for it , and for what? To beat the potato who trained 1 trillion dex but 1b str/speed and no defense? Not worth it imo. If you go against a decent dex whore like RGiskard, good luck winning with sure shot only. Better to just SE Speed at that point or get a few people to serve as distraction. 

I don't see you mentioning the biggest disadvantage of any defense whore: ranked equipment. So long as your hit damages the opponent, it has a chance to proc and we all know that unless you play this game for decades, full damage mitigation from ratio alone is a myth in a competitive landscape. So assume you will be affected by every perk in game whereas a dex whore at least has hit chance in their favor, specially with everybody throwing smoke grenades during wars.
