Humour me, many years ago in Torn, am I correct in thinking attacks used to cost 50E, and I vicodin would reduce attacking E to 25E, as well as boosting stats.

I also vaguely remember you could take a vicodin and xanax at the same time?

Ive spoken to a few players who seem to think this too, but also some whi think I've made it all up.

So Ol'timers of the game, whats the deal?

You never could get xanax and Vico at the same time. Both had drug cooldowns then. Other than that, the story checks out.

The official story for the energy spenderture halving was that, there was a chemical agent released into the air which caused the change for energy cost per attack. Its a long time ago so, i might just be hallucinating.

Attacking now costs 25 energy even without Vicodin. Vicodin now boosts all stats passively by 25% during attacking and defending. Changes will most likely be made for all drugs during the Drugs 2.0 update later on.

Discussions on Drugs 2.0 are going well. I think we've got a pretty solid plan for how they're going to work, it's going to be a very interesting update: We're talking about being able to take more than one drug at once (with extra risks), mixing different drugs to create cocktails, and renaming the popular Xanax and Vicodin to illegal drug names rather than pharmaceuticals.

No, I genuinely thought there was a time you could take both, only that combination of drugs though.

Mandela effect hey 🤷‍♂️😅

Ever wondered why older players had used so much Vicodin? Yeah this is why, used to reduce the energy cost of an attack to 25 from 50

Iirc it's also the primary reason it's so worthless. Back in the day it was worth, like, the price of a Xanax today but when it was nerfed there was so much circulation that the price crashed to where it is now alongside the fact that it was borderline useless. Might be wrong about the price thing since I'm working on accounts from other people but I think I've heard it was close.

Vicodin used to cost around 150k

However when the ability to stack energy up to 1000, combined with the energy/attack being reduced people quickly realised for chaining purposes, Xanax was the best way to gain respect. The 25% stats is all well and good but generally it is not needed for most events in torn. This means the price plummeted to it's current levels.

Yup you are definitely right about 50E per attack. On a side note, I vaguely remember the event where u use daily steps to wander Halloween Town? and blood spattered sickle was a reward.

There was an article in Torn City Times som time ago, where old screenshots and stuff was published.

It was a fun read for a "new" player.
I just can't find it right now.

Those are called updates not Mandela effects

Yes, an update came out where we could have more than one gym, and yes, all the cars have different names. But they used to have real-world car names.

You could never take 2 drugs at the same time.

As for the rest of what you said is correct.

I can also confirm that some "brilliant" traders used to sell Vicodins at the same price of a Xanax after the changes were made regarding the respective usage of the 2 drugs mentioned because most players were still confused and had the habit to mechanically buy Vicodin.
