The mission doesn't say anything about only getting one chance, and in an attempt to soften my target first, I hit too hard. I failed the mission. Please either update the text of the mission or set it to allow multiple tries.

The mission asks you NOT to use any weapons against the target. The mission fails the moment you fire a gun or use a melee weapon against the target, it does not matter if you were softening the target or trying to defeat them.

Thanks!

The mission text states that the target must be defeated without weapons or armor. It does not state, or even imply, that this condition applies only to a single attempt, nor that defeating the target under any other conditions permanently fails the mission.

If the intended behavior is that the player gets one chance only, that needs to be explicitly stated. As written, the language describes a condition of completion, not a condition of first contact.

This isn’t a gameplay balance complaint, and I’m not asking for compensation. It’s a wording issue. From a technical standpoint, this is a straightforward text clarification. Literally a single-field update to make the rule explicit. If this behavior has been discussed previously, that only reinforces the point: the current wording is not self-evident.

For comparison, other missions with weapon-specific requirements (e.g., melee-only kills) clearly allow multiple attempts. A player can defeat the target with a firearm, wait for them to leave the hospital, then complete the mission correctly with a melee weapon. This mission behaves differently, yet the text does not signal that distinction in any way.

The issue isn’t the rule. It’s that the rule isn’t communicated. Clear language would prevent confusion entirely.

Be prepared for an upcoming fix for those other missions to now also fail as soon as you use the wrong weapon as a result of this :)
