MoDuL's:

Lap Recorder

Lap capture, replay review, exports, and local records.

Join the Discord

MoDuL's Lap Recorder adds a floating recorder window to Torn Racing pages. It records lap number, position, calculated chrono, delta, and Torn's visible last-lap time, then helps you review pace, export race reports, and keep local records by track and car. Live race capture, replay review, final-lap safeguards, HTML export, and local best-lap / race-time records.

What it does

  • Records lap number, race position, calculated chrono, delta, and visible last-lap time.
  • Supports live races and race replays.
  • Saves local best lap and race-time records by track and car.
  • Exports standalone HTML race reports and imports those reports back into the records table.

How to use

  1. Install the userscript in Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey.
  2. Open a Torn race or replay page.
  3. Click the floating Lap Recorder button.
  4. Keep the race tab focused while you want laps and timer data recorded.
  5. On replays, manually select the driver you want to follow if the list has not selected one yet.
  6. Use HTML export for reports and Records to review local bests.

Known issue - Page title was supposed to be running a countdown to the start of the race. But in many cases it shows 16 something.

🏁 MoDuL’s Lap Recorder — Project Termination Notice

The chequered flag has dropped for Lap Recorder.

After a long run of updates, fixes, experiments, and community feedback, I’ve decided to officially terminate the Lap Recorder project.

This script started as a simple way to record and organise lap times, but over time it grew into something much bigger than its original purpose. It helped shape ideas, exposed limits, revealed better methods, and most importantly showed me what a proper racing tool should become.

For everyone who used it, tested it, reported bugs, suggested features, or simply trusted it during their racing grind — thank you. Your feedback pushed the project further than I originally expected.

But this is not the end of the road.

Something new is already being forged in the garage.

The next project will not simply replace Lap Recorder — it will go beyond it. The goal is something faster, stronger, cleaner, smarter, and far more efficient.

Think less “recording what happened” and more “understanding the race”. Better structure, better imports, better stats, better handling of crashes, replays, leaderboards, and performance data. Built from the lessons Lap Recorder taught me, but without being chained to its older foundations.

I’m not ready to reveal the name just yet… but those who have been following my racing tools will probably feel where this is heading.

Lap Recorder crosses the finish line.

The next project is already warming up.
