This should be happening less than once a year given how many factions there are.

Are you letting your wars time out to the last possible moment before the next enlist? All the factions I know that don't get matched do that. My theory is that the matching algorithm is preferencing factions that enlisted sooner, there's probably some kind of ordered list and it's going down the list making pairs. If there's one left over, it's gonna be one of the ones near the bottom of the list.
As a faction that only wars every second week, we enlist nearly a full week in advance of matchmaking, and we haven't failed to match since we started doing that years ago.

Thor believes this must be the issue after discussions.
War ends not too close to re-enlistment but the re-enlist button isn't hit right away always.
It's must be a pretty narrow strength range that can match up with you guys. I wonder if your peers have matching war start time preferences setups.
Simple. This is proof that Ched doesn't like you.
That wouldn't matter. You don't get preferentially matched with someone who picked the same start day (or matched based on strength range). They match you then they select the start day based on the day you both picked if it's the same, or a coin flip if it's not.
Sounds like you're out of your league...time for your rank to lessen.

There may be a lot of faction enlisting but there are only so many within your range you can match. You're not gonna get queued up to fight some random bronze faction.
