Recently saw a thread speaking about “what if everyone started from scratch”, and gave me this idea.

 

Being a relatively new player, I obviously have no hope of catching up to a player who started 20 years ago, and the idea of everyone starting at the same point again does sound fun.

 

Oldschool Runescape has a system called Leagues which they run for a month each season, where players can opt in to join the seasons League, everyone starts a new character fresh at the beginning of a League and they have a month to get as far as they can, competing to see who achieves the most tasks and gets the furthest. Once the League is finished, scores are tallied and a winner is crowned. This is all entirely separate to their main character but gives everyone within the League the fun of starting fresh together for a month, working their way through the game and fighting.

 

Seems as though it’d be a hard task to replicate in Torn, but seems like a cool idea, at least to me, as I feel like starting fresh with everyone for a month only would be fun and competing to see who gets the furthest.

Torn is a complete different type of game you used to see elsewhere. You dont actually need any skill(maybe reading) here. You just have to understand the algorithm and how it works. The only brag is how much time you spent and how many donator pack you bought. So it only depends on the time you spend and  money you waste. As an old torn player, I could slap most people left and right if i did spent my precious time. But i dont care. So i think your idea is great but wont work.

Leagues works because its ironman, where you cant really trade or interact with other people outside of talking to them, which is still possible to do in torn but like flying for your own xanax probably isnt appealing to most players. Osrs is kind of designed around self sufficiency where torn isnt

You could!!! By spending millions real money to buy donatorpack and resell them for torn money and then buy SE and what ever you need, maybe dirtybomb to nuke those 20years old player

This would be a neat replacement for Eliminations as it would seriously level the playing field and be cause for serious bragging rights at the end of it. It would have to be a Self-Made Ironman mode, though. That way, the "new accounts" couldn't be gifted tons of xanax to get the upper hand, despite being a level 1 account. I agree that implementing it in Torn would be tricky, but it sounds like a novel game mechanic that would be quite enjoyable.

Would be a real laugh to match you in a ranked war. There's probably 5,000+ players that logged in today that would have you slapped back in the hospital before you even managed to tab out of your medical items page.
