Ok. Hear me out...
When doing racing tournaments, we frequently run into the issue of someone doing well in early rounds, and then getting to the finals with exactly the same chances as anyone else. Yes, we can account for that by giving points in the rounds which are added to the final big race, but how cool would it be if we could set up a final race where each driver got a slight advantage by being higher up the starting grid. Yes, i know this would require some reprogramming of the race system since currently it's simplified so everyone starts together...but how cool would it be?! That's right, cooler than Morgan Freeman reading a list of hip words while wearing a smoking jacket in Antarctica
Other uses:
- making the fastest driver start from the back of the grid to limit their skill advantage
- Switching grid orders between races just for funsies
- Having qualifying races that don't just knock out drivers that have a bad race so they can't compete in the whole tournament, instead they just get a slight disadvantage by starting further back in the grid
What say ye, fellow racers?
