Help expose scammers & protect new players!

Lately I’ve noticed a massive increase in scams targeting newer and returning players, so I decided to make this thread as a warning hub.

Common scams currently going around:
-Trust trades (“I’ll send later bro”)
-Fake middlemen

-Loan scams
-Market manipulation/bait pricing
-Impersonating trusted players or faction members
-“Too good to be true” giveaways

-Poker scams ("I'll double it for you")

-Quitting scams ("Quitting torn I'm giving it all away just send me $10m brother")

-bazaar manipulation (changing prices before many webs update)

-XanMan1997 [4046944] -> Typical vicodin scam. This dude can't be more wretched

-BananasForScale [4039810] -> Had his own Reddit post about him. Such an honor! Fake RW lotteries,vicodin ripoff, scams for losses and best of all he's a prick
-Atrociously [4001049]-> Xan scammer
-AkiTolo [2682591]-> Trade mugger. Another Reddit star!
-Temhax [3205955]-> Loss scammer. Ppl just can't be original Ig...
-Offertory [2487783]-> Buy mugger. He created his own post where he shows the amount stolen

-onesat [1941490] -> "Quitting Torn" scammer. pls don't fall for that
-Whiskas [2905276] -> Trade reject mugger, fake parcels

-Entomology [3822840] -> API abuser, xan scammer, piece of shit 

-jakethesnak3 [4293531] -> vicodin scam
-Crac [2589094] -> Mistletoe and vicodin scam

-WA731 [4270134] -> Another parcel scammer

If you know any scammers, suspicious players, or scam methods, post them here with proof/screenshots so others can avoid becoming victims.

The goal isn’t witch hunting — it’s player awareness and helping people stay safe.

I’ll keep updating this thread whenever new scam methods appear. If these warnings/help posts save you money or items and you want to support the effort, donations are appreciated but never required.

XanMan1997 - He spams the trade chat saying he has accidentally changed the price of Xanax to $84,000 but its not Xanax its Vicodin that looks similar.

As a rule of thumb, when people claim to sell something below the market value and you are the chosen one for no reason, check

• amount mugged (age dependent, but people mugging for missions only will be low; buy muggers will be high - in millions/ billions)
• number of enemies (anytning more than 10, move away)

yep I got hustled by BananasForScale at a lower level. promised an RW for xanax. then gave me a basic version of the same weapon. thanks for warning others 

Hot take here, you get buymugged for being stupid, you get scammed for being stupid. Have half a brain and you can avoid it. 

That logic only works if you ignore how scams actually work. Scammers specifically target newer players who don’t know market values, trade systems, or common tricks yet.

By that logic, nobody should warn people about phishing, fraud and real-world scams either because “smart people won’t fall for it”. Awareness exists for a reason.

Not everyone has 10 years of Torn experience. The whole point of this thread is helping people learn before they lose hundreds of millions.

There are probably 100s of threads about avoiding scams and being buy mugged some of which are included in noob guides, if they can't read those why do you think this is going to help. Dumb people are going to be dumb.

And yet people still get scammed every single day, which kinda proves those “100 threads” clearly aren’t enough.

Crazy concept I know, but repeating warnings helps newer players who weren’t around 5 years ago reading dead forum posts.

Calling people dumb doesn’t make you knowledgeable, it just makes you sound like the exact kind of veteran scammers love having around because you discourage people from warning others

Got scammed by Entomology [3822840]. I've got some time on so it's a bit silly to fall for this but basically he's exploiting bazaar API timing for Xanax sales.

He posted his price as 815K a pop, waited for the extension to show he was the lowest seller, then changed it to 1.8 million, so I quickly bought from the bazaar (100 million) while not double checking his fucked up pricing, and obviously got less than half the Xans I should have gotten. It ain't the best scam and it could have obviously been avoided but I wasn't the only one to fall for it, he was already in the hospital from a bounty where someone called him a scammer and now he's got another one for the same reason. 

I reached out to him to try to reconcile but he DGAF so just know he's a prick and he's doing this very deliberately. 

I am a Trusted Trader , Safe Trader, Scams are very easy to spot, always beware , if you find your favorite Trader stick with him/her
