Same having the same issue
I'm noticing something similar from the app. Particularly when I click and hold links for previews to things. Screen becomes unresponsive. I can still click some of the icons such as refresh or home, but cannot interact with anything on page beyond that unless I close the app and open it again.

Having same issue on samsung mobile. Regular torn app and also torn pda.
For example, on war page It allows me to hold down to bring up the mini profile of enemies 2 times and on the 3rd it freezes my screen to where i have to close app to get it un frozen.
