🗑️Sell Junk

Why does this exist?
A recent patch made two changes to how shops work in Torn:
- Added relevant shop locations next to the Buy and Sell values featured on the Item Information panel
- Fixed some items being unintentionally sellable at more than one shop (i.e. some contraband in Bits 'n' Bobs)
The knock-on effect is that many items that used to be easy to sell in bulk — contraband, recycling junk, pharmacy supplies, print shop documents — are now harder to locate quickly. The patch corrected which shops accept which items, but it didn't give us a faster way to actually get there and sell them. You still have to navigate to each shop manually, find your items in the list, tick them individually, and repeat for every shop.
Sell Junk automates that process. It scans your inventory, matches your items against a curated list of things that are worth selling to NPC shops, groups them by shop, and walks you through each one.

Requirements
- A Limited Access Torn API key with Inventory permission
- Create one at Preferences → API Keys
How to Use
To use the tool, navigate to your items page and press the sell junk button at the top:
First run — setting up your API key
On your first click of Sell Junk, a prompt will appear asking for your API key.
Paste your Limited Access key (Inventory permission required) and click Save & Scan Inventory. The key is validated against the API before being saved, and stored locally in your browser — it is never sent anywhere except directly to Torn's own API.
Scanning your inventory
After your key is saved, clicking Sell Junk immediately scans your inventory across all relevant categories and shows you a results panel grouped by shop.
Each group shows which items you have and how many. At the bottom you will see how many items and shops are queued.
Configuring your junk list
Not everything on the list is junk to you. Click ⚙ Junk List in the results panel header to open the configuration panel.
- Check an item → it will appear in future scan results
- Uncheck an item → it will be silently ignored when scanning
- Toggle an entire category at once using the category checkbox
- Click ↺ Defaults to restore factory settings
- Click 💾 Save & Rescan to apply and immediately re-scan
⚠️ Weapons (Melee, Primary, Secondary) and Armor are unchecked by default. See the Weapons & Armor warning section below for why.
Going to the shops
Once you are happy with what is selected, click 🛒 Go to Shops →.
The script enters Sell Junk Mode and navigates you to the first shop. A small panel appears in the top-right corner of every shop page showing:
- Which shop you are on (e.g. Shop 1 of 4)
- The items you should sell here
Click ☑ Select All Junk to automatically tick every matching item in the shop's sell list and fill in the correct quantities. Then hit the shop's own SELL ITEMS button to complete the sale.
When you are done, click Next Shop → to move on. The panel advances automatically. On the last shop the button changes to ✓ Finish.
You can click ✕ Cancel at any time to exit Sell Junk Mode without continuing.
Weapons & Armor are excluded by default
The junk list includes weapons and armor that sell at or above market price at Big Al's Gun Shop. However, these categories are turned off by default for an important reason:
I don't want you accidentally selling your precious RW item as junk, and I don't have a rw weapon to test filtering.
A note on inventory data freshness
The Torn v2 API caches inventory data server-side on a per-category basis. This means that items you have just sold may still appear in your next scan — the API is simply returning a stored snapshot rather than a live read of your inventory.
This is a Torn API limitation and is not something the script can work around. If your results look stale, give it a short while and scan again. The cache is refreshed by Torn's servers automatically over time.
The Junk List
Items make the list if their NPC shop sell price is higher or near their market price(from data on 17/06/2026), making it more efficient to sell directly to the shop than to list on the item market.
The full list is below. If you think an item should be added or removed, please reply with your suggestion, and I will update it in the next version.
