As a private you gain 1 job point per day
If you have the required work stats (50 Manual, 15 Intelligence and 20 Endurance) you can promote using 5 job points and start gaining 2 job points per day
There are 10 ranks at the army, up to General which gains 10 job points per day but requires 10,000 MAN 2,000 INT and 4,000 END
