Im not sure if this is coincidence but 3/4 times ive been arrested for pickpocketing a police officer was present, (over 300 successful). I was not attempting on them but was wondering if the percentage of critical fail goes up when they are present. Side note also lately I go after nothing but rich kids. They drop a 6-pack once in a while and they go for 100k.

The Six-Pack of Alcohol you received pickpocketing a rich kid is a "Unique" outcome, meaning it's an outcome you can only get once (and may require specific circumstances for it to be possible, but even if those are met again, you can't achieve it a second time). You're also correct police officers are a difficult target to pickpocket.

So.... you think that if a Police Officer is present on the Pickpocketing List, that the critical fail chance goes up?

Strange to see a Level 8 doing a mid level crime though.
Only crime I do. Did tutorial until I got to the attack 5 and stopped. All energy goes to gym all crime goes pickpocketing. Buy 100 beers . Sell wallets, clutches, etc. that im picking. Rinse and repeat. Its got me to a penthouse (rental) and 2m cash in a week of playing. I may not be doing it right but I feel like im doing something. Slow playing to 15 i guess
Glad to see your having fun with it and finding your way.
I recommend reading some guides and learn how other parts of the game work. You will have better success on pickpocket if you do some of the crimes before it. Can reasonably do some card skimming along side pickpocket for example. If your having fun keep going. It's just not bad to understand how people min max so you can take the parts you like and use them your way.
