Faction 15930 ×1 TheDevil [1627520] ×1

-BLACK-SUN- [3268436]

I’d like to share an experience we recently had so other faction leaders are aware.

Darkstar Haven agreed to a 60/40 cache split with HellBound before our Ranked War. Both sides confirmed the terms.

About 20 minutes before the war started, one of their leaders began placing bounties on one of our members who was flying in Canada, calling him an “idiot” for not being in Torn. The strange part was that the leader ( TheDevil [1627520] ) himself and two of his own members were also still flying at the same time.

We ignored it and continued with the agreed plan.

During the war, both factions medded each other out as agreed. We had two members on recruit status, which meant they could not participate in the Ranked War. I wasn’t aware of this before the war started, but once I realized it during the war, I informed their leader immediately. Despite this explanation, those members were still bountyed and labeled “idiot.”

On the other hand, one of HellBound’s own members overdosed and remained hospitalized for virtually the entire war, contributing nothing to the agreement. We didn’t make an issue of it because these things happen.

After the war ended and the agreed points were reached, instead of honoring the agreed payout, their leader informed us he would deduct $150m from our share, saying he was “being generous” by wanting to pay the remainder which still hasn’t been paid till now.

If there are concerns about a war agreement, they should be discussed and resolved fairly not by unilaterally changing the agreed payout after the war has concluded.

I’m posting this to document our experience so other faction leaders can see.

This post is great and all, but a post without any sort of logs or evidence are worth about as much as a rock on the side of the road.

Give us images of the conversations that took place explaining the terms as well as the supposed aftermath as proof.

You have been paid. Some of your members kept flying and we agreed we would not pre-war. You promised you would sort that but you did not. In spite of that we overpaid you slightly because I feel a bit sorry for you. As far as me flying at the start of the war goes: I was 15 minutes out, returning from rehab. Maybe you should tell the world that I compensated for that grave error by nicely medding out for you (take a look at the screenshot: one picture says more than a thousand words). With that I wish you all the best!

-BLACK-SUN- [3268436]

Nice mug after sending one. 😉

You mentioned you were returning from rehab, which is fair enough. But what about your other members who were also still flying at the same time? Were they returning from rehab too?

You also said I should have sorted out my own members. For context, here’s a screenshot showing that I did message the member who was flying before the war.

As I explained during the war, he was still on recruit status, so he wasn’t eligible to participate in the Ranked War anyway.

-BLACK-SUN- [3268436]

Trying to justify your actions with that reasoning is honestly absurd.

You keep bringing up medding out, yet you conveniently leave out the fact that I offered to med out for you, and you were the one who told me not to because the respect wasn’t worth it. Despite that, I still medded out for your members throughout the war.

Then you try to justify bountying my members because they were on recruit status. They couldn’t participate in the Ranked War, and I explained that to you during the war as soon as I found out. Instead of understanding that, you continued calling them “idiots” and used it as an excuse afterward.

And while we’re talking about members who weren’t participating, one of your own members spent virtually the entire war in the hospital after overdosing. I didn’t bounty them, call them names, or use that as an excuse to change our agreement after the war.

That’s the difference here.

-BLACK-SUN- [3268436]

If I’d known this was how they handled agreements, I honestly wouldn’t have agreed to term in the first place. I expect both sides to honor what was agreed, regardless of how the war plays out.

Fordeaux [2199085]

ITT: people who don't know how to lead factions and term wars leading factions and terming wars.

  1. Jumping straight to insults and getting pissy about someone flying to Canada is a bit silly. SA, China, UAE are maybe the exceptions where this might be acceptable lol.
  2. Recruits can still med out for opponents and make money (assuming you pay for medouts), any respect they lose counts during RW. They just can't gain respect or utilise fac perks.
-BLACK-SUN- [3268436]

Well I get I am new to all this war terms and all. But not too new to tell that a member on recruit statues cannot participate in a war.

Diofever [3892807]

Part of the agreement was to med out for each other. So how is medding out for him compensation for your "grave error" while you set bounty on DS members calling them "idiots" for the same flying?

The crazy part is you did this without even talking to the leader first and what's crazier is you and your members were also guilty of the crime. Did anyone bounty them and call them idiots? This is a first for me.

The funny part is when you arrived in torn, there were likely 35 members of DS in torn and DS reached their 3500 points in less than 4 hours. One would think that the fact you were upset about 2 or 3 members flying, that yours were ready to go. In 24 hours, your team didn't even muster up to 4000 points and when some DS members messaged your members to med out for them, most didn't reply or were ready

Thedevil, there is still time to honor the agreement. We all know it's very hard to control every single member of a faction. So breaking war agreement over something you and your members were guilty of is very bad. But it's up to you 🤷

TheDevil [1627520]

You are wrong... Actually recruits can, in a passive way, still partake in a war. Like Fordeaux said: "Recruits can still med out for opponents and make money (assuming you pay for medouts), any respect they lose counts during RW. They just can't gain respect or utilise fac perks."

Let me remind you of our pre-war convo:

You: Let’s go for 65/35 then if cool

Me: I can live with that, we take the win and the usual rules apply (no flying while the war is ongoing, no hitting onliners unless agreed upon, etc...)

You: Yeah sure

Me: let me pull up jimidy

You: What point for both team?

Me: working on it

7k for us and 3k for your faction will do it with decent caches
You: Ok cool. But was thinking for maxed caches we get 3800 and u get 7800 but yeah any fine by me

Will make my announcement now

Me: I can live with 3500 and 7500 you can use the respect as well to keep growing

You: Ok bro. Thanks

Me: I'll let my people know as well
Wed 02:38

Me: one last thing, since I like you we can do 60/40 but only if you guys med out a bit for us

we will do the same for you btw: why suffer? :P

During the war some of your players were flying to SA, I pointed that out and you told me you would sort it. You never did though: they flew multiple times. Thus breaking our agreement: players can't be hit (let alone med out) while flying. Now... If you would have sorted that (like you promised you would) we would have of course stuck with the 60/40... You didn't though and we went back to the initial deal of 65/35. Simply put: you didn't honor the terms of our agreement but still feel entitled to claim our more generous offer. Things don't work that way.

I hope that you've learned a thing or two and that you will do better in the future... With that, I consider the matter closed.

-BLACK-SUN- [3268436]

First of all, let me clarify something because you seem to be very inexperienced when it comes to Ranked Wars.

Players on recruit status cannot participate in Ranked Wars. If they attack. I wasn’t aware they were still on recruit status before the war, but as soon as I found out during the war, I informed you.

Secondly, you keep bringing up my two recruits traveling to South Africa, yet your own members were flying both before the war and during the war. So why is it only a problem when it’s my faction?

On top of that, one of your own members overdosed and remained in the hospital for virtually the entire war. We didn’t bounty them, call them names, or use that as an excuse to change the agreed terms afterward.

You also keep mentioning medding out. Let’s not forget that I offered to med out for you, and you were the one who told me not to because the respect wasn’t worth it. Despite that, my members still medded out for yours throughout the war, and I have the logs to prove it.

So what exactly are you trying to prove? Every point you’ve raised either applied to both factions or was already explained during the war. None of it justifies changing an agreed 60/40 split after the war had already ended.

Such dishonesty.

As I’ve said from the beginning, I simply shared my experience dealing with you. I have screenshots, travel logs, and attack logs to support everything I’ve said. Others can read the evidence and make their own judgment. I have nothing more to add.

TheDevil [1627520]

Since I'm a nice guy I will try and set you straight one last time. Maybe you will learn something from this experience, who knows?

  • Recruits cannot hit enemies, generate respect, or contribute to the war score, but they can be attacked and farmed for respect by the opposing faction
  • Try not to break the predefined terms of a war. If the opposition calls you out on it: take action
  • If you fail to take action don't be surprised when the opposing faction reacts unfavorably to that lack of action
  • Try not to slander your opponent and/or blackmail them into giving in to silly demands, especially not in public: it tends to backfire
  • Don't take things too personal and, when you make a mistake; admit to it, learn from it and move on gracefully

I bear you no ill will and hope you will do better in the future. Live and learn and try to keep in mind that we all play Torn for fun.

Victim complex is on show with this one. You're the one that reverted on an agreement & threw your toys out the pram. You've been shown up on the forums therefore tucked the tail between your legs.

Next time, how about you take notes of your list & learn from YOUR mistake.

-BLACK-SUN- [3268436]

I know it is bad yeah and I spoke to my members on it even fined them on it. But then why did he put bounty on them when his members as shown too were flying.
He is taking it like he is that perfect when his member where flying too and he didn’t bounty them in anyway. Even his member on od stayed in hospital all through the war.

Jimidy [2935825]

Haha, I might have to build in some controversy into the termed war calculator... ("pull up jimidy") love it lol :)
