For a beginner how good is parry? I was reading T&G section & I heard from many people that it's very good. Is it useful from muggers or will I still lose?

Parry bonuses on an RW weapon. A good one, not even a perfect one, can cost around 300 million each.
You're still new. Your stats aren't in the tens of millions just yet, and your net worth hasn't even passed the max bank limit. Parry won't do much for your battle stats at this stage, while an RW weapon will just cripple your net worth growth.
Take the cash out of your wallet, and people will slowly stop mugging you once it's no longer worth the energy.
You can put your money into the Stock Market, Bank, or Items instead.
It's good against muggers and early game before most people you fight have attachments and nice guns. But melee falls off as a primary damage source later.
Also I agree, don't buy expensive weapons until you won't miss the money.
If you had max bank for example you would make over 300m every 3 months.
Better weapons and armor will help you win fights vs players close to you in strength. If you are loosing to "someone", they are so much stronger than you that they can stealth attack you and it won't matter. Parry is stronger at lower levels and plunder weapons are all melee. Having no cash on hand, being in the hospital and working at a 7 star or better clothing shop are your best defenses vs muggers.
parry is great for gamblers that are mug targets - often saves you several seconds (if it doesn't save the whole mug). At higher levels, it changes - I will say even where I am, my parry comes in handy in real fights. But it's definitely not my main tool offensively.
Also super helpful on mission targets because lots of them run out of ammo and are stuck with melee weapons.
For instance, this one.
Plunder sucks anyway. Unless you're constantly hitting big big mugs, the additional % is negligible. Used to run 41% metal nuns but sold them like a year ago. Now I just my arma for mugging lol.
Yeah - the good muggers at the RR tables go for the one shot kill so mostly guns. But you still see a reasonable number of folks hoping for that plunder bonus…
