Hi wanted to know if karma points actually matter, other then the socially and how u gain them, ik if someone drop a like in a post by u u should get a KP but i can only get 1 by every torn player or a player can put 2 like in 2 different thread that would give me 2 KP?

WITHOUT KARMA ACCOUNT IS WORTHLESS
There's a VIP forum unlocked at 1k karma. But it's dead. Outside of that, there's a top 100 karma discord that's invite only. I chose not to join it as I'm not in any torn related discords.
There's no other purpose outside of social credit. You can only get one upvote/downvote per player on an individual thread. They can upvote/downvote your individual comments once as well. If you constantly are up voting or down voting over a short period of time, eventually the system will limit you for a period of time so you can no longer up or downvote to counteract spamming and manipulation.

I've never heard of this. Nor is it true.
I'd rather people know and dispell rumors about karma. The more people who are uninformed, the more dog shit threads were going to get it people trying to farm and unlock shit that doesn't exist.
Try to remember Q&A is for honest answers :)

There's a few shit heads who base their whole personality around their Karma in Torn.
There's also an upvote threshhold on Suggestions beyond which the devs have pledged to consider ideas(and these thread upvotes correlate to Karma).
Aside from that, and the few other things already mentioned above, Karma is completely meaningless.
The flat math also doesn't add up. 1 upvote/1 downvote doesn't always equal 1 Karma gained/lost, ostensibly because of past "abuses" of the Karma system, so depending on how you look at that, listed Karma on a player's profile isn't a true reflection. Someone did a full on evaluation of this difference a while back, after the forums API released. I think the long and short of it is that bursts of activity don't matter as much as sustained long-term activity.
Posts under a certain length or in specific forums also do not affect karma, amongst other things.
