Raffle question

So if I am understanding correctly, raffles can still be ran thru the discord RNG bots that were created, as long as all of the logs are shared on a forum? Correct me if im wrong? @bogie

My sense is that the raffles need to be run through the forums.  What tool you use to pick the winner (flip a coin, use an off-site RNG generator, or select your friend because it's a scam) is up to you - but the rest of it all needs to be in torn.  But I don't work here, so I could be wrong

What about the leafy lotto discord. They run free giveaways for the most part, you can also earn karma on the server that is used to buy into some of the bigger giveaways,  is this going to be allowed still?

As long as you're not buying in to it with Torn stuff (dollars or xanax), it seems like a discord that generates its own currency (karma) and gives away stuff (even if it is a torn giveaway) should be fine. 

That being said, there still could be an RMT concern there (i.e. a discord that advertises itself as a "giveaway" service, but in reality is a place where people pay RM to win the give-away).  But as far as I can tell, the new rules don't disallow a free-giveaway discord, but if the giveaways are big enough people might get suspicious it's a front for RMT.  But that's going to be true for anything that involves people giving away stuff for no apparent reason (even a free-giveaway on Torn).  So on a simple reading of the new rules:

• Third party casinos. This covers any external, player-run site or service where you buy in with Torn currency or assets to gamble on non-Torn content, such as slots, dice, roulette or card games.
• Third party bookies. This covers external platforms that take bets on events outside of Torn, such as sports books and accumulators.
• Off-site raffles and lotteries that cost Torn currency or assets to enter, including those run on Discord servers.

 

this seems fine as long as nothing else illegal is involved.

No, you've got that backwards. 

Entries submitted and logged in Torn forums

Use whatever tools you want to do the raffle picks, as long as no one is required to go off site to actually enter the raffle (and cannot enter the raffle from off site) 

Manually enter tickets into your discord bot if you like but the entries have to be done in Torn. 

I'm currently beta testing an item send raffle ticket tracker by my buddy while I run a raffle using the normal spreadsheet method I made for myself. I'm sure others are developing tools for this rules change as well. 

I don't expect anyone to read through the entire discussion thread on it at this point, but yeah staff explicitly don't want to restrict free giveaways.
