if you start your subscription after 1st day of month do you miss out on subscriber benefits for that month?

Yes, they are credited at the start of the first of the month - your subscription would have paid for the one on the first of the following month.
Moved to Q&A - as above, your subscriber rewards appear on the 1st of the month following the day you subscribed.
Should be asked in Questions not GD. Answer is yes but you will get at start of the next month as your subscription will go beyond the current month end.
