So I've been calculating probabilities given 53% vs 47% odds in the dealer's favor based on consecutive hands.
Torn regularly manages to pull out 1/50, 1/120, even 1/500 odds.
Yeah, sure, say it's rigged and mock people who are pissed about it. If they're going to make a "casino" why would they make odds that f**k people over even more than regular casino. I've been doing a bit of reading on the subject, torn's version of blackjack defies odds on so many levels.
I was a part of CoV. I don't really remember the context but we all remember those chaotic chains way back then. I remember Hatchet acting like a dumbass 14-year-old in irc. It was Sniper who led 4BK. I don't know about the Nazi thing but I remember their IRC channel the first time I looked at it had a message that said, "and never trust a Jew" so from then on I always thought they were racist. Later on, I found out that there was a Jewish member they were messing with. Either way they were a good target to beat.
I don't remember the date but it was actually something like 13000. Nobody had done one close yet. There were no cooldowns on joining/leaving factions back then. What basically went down was people coming and going doing a few hits in Yakuza. It was the ultimate guesting chain.
A faction with nearly 2.3M resp would go for between 23-25B maybe, easily 22B. If soft had strategized he could have gotten that amount, along with clearing the armory out for another 2B. If there wasn't such outrage I basically would have come up about 5B in assets. Assets that soft had ownership of. I mean, given how things have turned out I certainly wouldn't repeat at this point but I wasn't trying to scam. I just saw the assets as more liquidable than others see them. I thought he could easily go to someone else. If I were just buying stolen FHC I don't think people would be so outraged.
PR was not my faction I just bought this crap. Spending 20B gives you the right to kick people. I believed I was only taking assets off of Soft's bottom line but I can see how he wouldn't have been so easily liquid if he tried to sell directly. He could have done a better job scamming too. If I were trying to, I certainly could have. What I don't understand is how people like you even think I was trying to get away with something, while simultaneously posting about it in real time in the forums? If I went along with Soft's plan I could have still sold the faction for a profit down the line and nobody would have been the wiser. There are so many different approaches I would take if I were trying to be sneaky. Namely, not posting in the forums.
It’s fun playing the villain when it’s not about scamming. Not everyone agrees with the outrage crowd that what I did was scamming but I’ll pander lowest common denominator here as it’s not fun having your integrity in question.

It was literally the person who held leader that sold it. No responsibility is being taken from you bunch of whiny victims for passing the faction to the scammer. I took billions out of his bottom line. That faction and everything in it were his possessions. He could have done much better. I think you pretend saint people are getting funny. I highly doubt one person thinks I’m a scammer. I certainly don’t solicit scamming. Hell I don’t even mug people. PR really messed up in letting soft have leader though. Why should I feel guilty for their mistakes?
Soft bastardized it by turning the faction into a pink Mac10. I have no loyalty to PR and would rather be distanced from those who were members. If I were a PR member I would not only be pissed at soft, but tiny for handing it to him. This is torn, not fairy myth honor land. You can’t just give factions to people lightly.
Do you really think that would have stopped it from getting sold? I think more likely another person would have followed behind and swooped it up to flip it. I had already been negotiating (pre-theft-disclosure) about PR for days. I was probably the only person in a position to take advantage of soft, and I did. If you don't take advantage of opportunities right in front of your face, you don't know how to torn.
He didn't need my help and you're still an idiot for suggesting that. The moment that faction was transferred to him it was his possession. If anything he's a bad scammer for allowing the previous leader to take money out and not getting enough out of the sale transaction. I could have been quiet and said not a damn thing. I don't care regardless.
It was a good deal. I definitely pulled one over on SoftRising. He said he would go to the forums to sell if I didn't agree to his terms. I figured, WTF, I'll take the money right in front of my face and try to f**k the guy over if I can.
BTW there's a few people who were close to 1000 days I'm allowing back in to get the merits. This faction is no longer PR. It is not my intention to maintain PR members.
My long history of putting my members before myself and everything into my factions speaks for itself. What makes you think someone would want to join a faction led by people too stupid to accept free money? I don't go around soliciting people for profits, I'm not even a trader. I just happened to be shopping for a faction. I think it's hilarious that people like you find ways to reproach me. I'd do what I did again 10X over.
Hypocrisy/idiocy? You're delusional. The only person I attempted to deceive was the scammer. I will scam a scammer any day of the week and feel good about myself. I'll make fun of pretend women any time I damn well feel like it.
Edit: I bought a faction that was stolen by SoftRising. I outed him in this thread and I wasn't received well. Not realizing I would be seen as an accomplice, I defended myself fencing stolen goods(though many still do not see it that way). In order to be at peace with the world I offered the faction back to its original owners at a 2Bn loss to myself. Right now I am still waiting for them to come up with the funds.
The faction is currently open to former PR Members to join.
