I expect them to strengthen in defence. The guy Arsenal bought Chambers, isn't even a starter for them. Lovren and shaw are hits but I expect Southampton to buy a few more defenders and they have a few younger players coming though.

They will be alright. Plus they have had an excellent pre season so far.

Except they've lost 5 players so far, and their manager.

Carroll left for 15m and Downing went for 5m. Charlie Adam went for 5m too...

Last year wasn't as bad though. Mignolet is alright. Still young and had no competition to keep his job. Sakho is pretty decent and still young. Needs to learn how to manage his first touch. Nobody else was all that expensive. 5-8m players. Allen and Borini are both still young too, so who knows. Along with Ibe, who might fight for a small spot in the first team this year.

And over the last few years, I think Henderson can be added to the list of players who have panned out for us. After his red card at the end of the last campaign is the same time we fell apart in the title bid. Coincidence? Not to me.

So far they have blown about £120 million on players who arent as good as him :P

who would you suggest we buy that is as good as him?

and we've spent 60m. 5m on lambert, 25m on lallana, 10m on can, 20m on markovic. there are obviously others getting finalized right now but our starting 11 are pretty much already squared away. our biggest problem last year was lack of depth. there was none at all. plus the central defense issues. those issues are being resolved. depth is being taken care of and plugging some holes in the defense, in theory.

As for Remy, if you can score 14 or 15 for Newcastle who were garbage and fell apart last year... pretty sure you'll do just fine when you get some proper service around you. Him and lambert would only be backup for sturridge anyway.

A lot of people are upset as LFC supporters that we sold him. It seemed that we needed him last year to compete to them.

One person does not make a team. He wanted the club to revolve around him it seemed. Always upset when someone didn't pass him the ball if they didn't score, if he came out of a game the house would come down, etc.

Personally, I'm happy he's gone and we received good money for him. He's not the first goal scorer we've had and he won't be the last. And lately when goal scorers leave this club, they fall apart. Just ask Michael Owen and Fernando Torres.

Now we can not be yelled at for supporting a man who acts like he does and move on.

If anyone recalls, we did just fine to start last campaign without him. Didn't allow goals, won games. Now there is depth with all the money he's helped provide.
