Requirements
Unfortunately for some, being of the caliber of Faction we are, there are certain requirements which the majority of the Torn population are unlikely to meet. These include:
A minimum requirement of 4,000,000,000 Battle Stats (Exceptions may be made)
A minimum requirement of 80 Hits per week when Chaining (Unless valid reason)
Must not cause any drama with existing Faction members.
Must have access to IRC during important wars.

With the new Faction Special system implemented in January 2017, we are very keen to maximise our benefit from these as soon as possible. At a total cost of 20,000,000 Respect, this seems an unlikely goal for the immediate future, but we have set out plans for the specials we wish to unlock which are most beneficial to our Faction Members in the long term. However, currently the four branches we have chosen to focus on are:
Aggression
Suppression
Steadfast
Toleration
In our opinion these specials are the most beneficial for the Faction in terms of improving our strength, therefore are the ones we have chosen to maximise first. After reading a lot of posts and speaking with Myhedin I thought I'd offer my memories and opinions, for what they're worth.
Quite simply, Myhedin ranks as one of the finest chainers, mentors & leaders the game has ever had, and will likely ever have. When we formed MnC, I barely knew the guy and thought he was an immature teenager, who didn't really have any leadership qualities, and was more of a liability. He quickly proved me wrong. Although the first year or so was tough, his dedication to improve MnC was absolute and total. We suffered a few setbacks early on but he was relentless in fights and never gave up, even in certain defeat. He inspired our members to achieve bigger things and soon MnC started to crack well-established skulls.
It was not uncommon for him to lead our chains in big wars, all day and all night until victory or the occasional defeat arrived. He could keep a network of revivers in check, whilst looking for and calling out targets, for hour after hour, making my job as co-leader a piece of piss. Not only did Myhedin help MnC reach the top echelon of HoF factions, he also guested for just about every other HoF faction at one point of another. Often, his abilities were so good that these other factions asked him to lead their chains on their behalf!
But more than his chaining prowess, he was able to take under his wing so many up and coming players. I believe he kept so many players in the game who would of drifted away if it wasn't for him. This is arguably his finest quality. As someone I've had the privilege to know now for many, many years, I can honestly say he's one of my closest friends and one of the very few players I still look up too.
When I heard about the allegations made against him, I was disappointed but not entirely surprised. Sharing leadership responsibilities with him has not always been straight forward as he was always prone to doing a 'Myhedin' - someone should get that phrase on urban dictionary. Over the years he's done plenty of daft things, often in the heat of the moment or after a few drinks. That being said, there are rules, and he broke them, and therefore should be punished.
There are certain times in life where a bit leniency can provide the best results. Does RMT'ing deserve to be punished severely? Absolutely. Does someone who has inspired so many people to play this game deserve to be permanently banned for a $100 RMT operation? I don't think so personally.... I'm going to go out on a limb but I reckon the amount of cash generated by subscriptions & donations that wouldn't of been bought without the influence of Myhedin is 10 x higher than any money he made from his RMT.
Anyway, that's my take on the matter. I will be keeping in touch with the nub, so am happy to follow on any love or abuse you have for him!
So as the new chaining system is well underway now, I thought it would be a good opportunity to note down the key achievements so far - and hopefully the ones still to come! In addition, I've also tried to put together a list of the chaining records from the old system, so us old farts have something to reminisce over!
There are still quite a few gaps (particularly from the old system) where I haven't been able to source the information. If something looks incorrect or incomplete, please send me over a mail and I'll fix it.

- HT-Supermikk set a new record for most successful attacks made in a 10k chain - 332!
- JFC became the first faction to break the 24 hour mark for a 10k chain - very impressive!
- ÐA broke the record for most respect gained for a 10k chain (71,437.3) although that was subsequently bettered by both Relentless & IBB! Unfortunately, I do not have confirmation links or screenies of their chains. If anyone does have them, please pass them on and I'll correct the records in my next update!
- SA had a 100% turnout in their 10k chain, with all 100 members participating - the first faction to achieve this.
- JFK broke the all-time record for the most respect gained from a 1k chain (6,542). Due to the buffs/nerfs, I've kept some of the original 1k respect records. Big thanks to WALL_St & Endurvoextur who went through Ched's patch lists to help confirm.
Sorry for the delay but the latest update is finally out! Again, if there is anything missing (likely!), send me a mail and I'll correct it.
Quick summary of updates:
- Congratz to JFK 2.1 & PT-IronHearts for achieving their first 10k chains in the new system!
- PT-IH's chain broke several records including most respect earned from a 10k chain, highest bonus hit for a 10k chain and most number of successful attacks completed by an individual (logiet).
- Following that chain, Itsi Bitsi Bikini broke PT-IH's record for the most respect gained from a 10k chain (69,216.10) and equalled 39th Street Killers X's record for most number of members participating in a 10k chain.
- JFA 2.0 smashed the record for fastest 5k chain at 2 hours, 1 minute & 53 seconds, over 7 hours faster than Milk and Cookies's previous record! Good luck to anyone attempting to break that!
- Well done to Little Stompers for completing their first 5k chain - not bad for a faction led by Rekker ;)
- And finally, well done to The Protectorate for completing their first 1k chain!
So from what I remember, the respect gained was then nerfed and then buffed back to original amount (or similar too).
The records I listed (JUX & HV) only cover the original and nerfed gains. By the time the gains were buffed again, most factions had moved onto 2.5k and so nobody was actively trying to break it. If someone could confirm that the gains now are the same as they were originally, I'll make JUX's record the all-time best for a 1k chain with HV's remaining as the best post-nerf (but pre-buff). If they are different, I'll add Wall st's faction as the record for post-buff gains.
Hope that makes sense... Too many buffs and nerfs!
- Well done to PT-Calculated & 39th Street Killers X for becoming the sixth and seventh factions to complete a 10k chain in the new system!
- PT-Calc's chain broke the record for highest respect gained from the 10k bonus hit (15,482.57) with 39th X equaling the feat a few days later!
- 39th X's chain beat MnC's speed record for the fastest 10k chain at 1 day, 8 hours, 16 minutes and 29 seconds! After 30 hours of chaining, they took the record by 2 minutes & 20 seconds!
- 39th X would also claim the title for the most members involved in a 10k chain (99). This narrowly edged out JFA, IBB, MnC & PT-Calc who all had 97 involved!
- Honourable mentions to Helvete & JFK 2.1 who both completed 5k chains in the past week. Congrats to Lex Talionis on their 2.5k chain and well done to The War Rig & ELITE RETRO on their 1k chains!
As always, mail me if I've missed anything! One piece of info I'm missing was who made PT-Calc's final bonus hit in their 10k chain? Answers on a postcard!
- Well done to JFA, IBB & MnC who have all joined the exclusive 10k club with PT-Family! Special mention that PT-F and MnC are the only two factions to achieve a 10k chain in the old & new chaining systems so far!
- JFA initially smashed the 10k chain time of PT-F, beating it by just over a day. A few hours later, this time was toppled by MnC who now hold the record at 1 day, 8 hours & 18 minutes. It's worth noting that IBB also joined the sub 2 day club!
- JFA, IBB & MnC all claimed the record for most members participating in a 10k chain, with 97 from each faction!
- IBB took the record for most respect gained for a bonus hit - 15,480.36 by CuTeKyOkO. This narrowly beats the efforts of both PT-F and MnC by a measly 2.5 respect!
- Despite the efforts of all three factions, PT-F still remain well ahead with the highest respect gained from a 10k chain - 68,205.
- Honourable mentions must also go to ShadowRazers for completing a 5k chain, JFA 2.0 for completing a 2.5k chain in their new faction, and We Are Rising for hitting a 1k chain!

Perhaps you should start looking at your own deficiencies before those of other factions? Perhaps if it wasn't for your poor choices, you wouldn't of united half of the hall of fame against you? Perhaps we need to send you back to sector 7 to remind you of that?

It's interesting to see that less than 1 month into the new chaining system, 15 factions have completed 2,500 chains. Prior to the new chaining system, only 17 had ever completed a 2,500 chain! I guess adding a decent incentive and allowing all hits to count has helped, but it's good too see a lot more factions getting involved.
If people can send me logs for chains of 1,000 or above where we can definitively say all bonuses were hit correctly, I will start ranking them into an order.
Thanks Harley - I did find it a few days ago which helped add a couple to the list of factions who achieved 2.5k chains. The only thing it misses are the chains which pre-date those records (e.g. HT, BAMF and 39th). I've managed to dig up the 39th long chain but I've drawn a blank on BAMF and HT so far!
I don't think it's needed particularly. Once you get up to the higher chains (10k+) there will be so long between bonus hits that no-one will risk missing out on that bonus respect.
