HIGH VOLTORBS

First of all... FOR THE VOLTIDDIES! YESBALLS!

This year wasn't just electrical for us, we shocked the WHOLE city of Torn, power surges all across town! (we even tripped Discord worldwide :p)

It was an amazing year for us, we started out calmly and quietly, finding a couple friends in the initial groupings to try and keep alive through the boring all v 1 script that keeps happening every year due to the same and similar people. We were on that first list initially is why we got sent down by 'stray hits' and had to play on the pushes. So this year we thought FUCK THAT WE GOT SOME YES BALLS - LETS USE THEM

So we did that and got into the final 6. When we learned of the promises made to everyone to be top 3 by Sticks and Apex we declared the game was finally open and we were not playing to their tunes, the table split: HV, RE, GD, LC v AP, SS, RS.

Loose Cannons gave an amazing last stand to help us cause damage to the 'machine' that we chose to now rage against! They were valiant, those cannons were not loose, they were fixed to the ground where they had their final stand.

After their unfortunate dismantling, the gold rush popped up back in their old camp again, now HV and Reptiles were in a 4v2 against 2 string pullers and allies. We absolutely electrified the ground with our Lizard brethren jumping on those pushes like LEGENDS, you guys can hang on to anything i swear xD

But the Scientists uncovered plans to sabotage their rockets for launch, upon learning of these plans being plotted by supposed allies, they decided that they too would not just sit and play the most scripted elims ever. Reptiles and Rockets jumping pushes with the Highest Volts of Zeus striking down on Sticks and Stones from above... GET SMITED... SMOTED? A whole 40+ ticks went by and Rockets were still launching all they had into it, like Cannons, they are to be extremely proud of their actions... they eventually had liftoff and we had to wave goodbye, knowing that it was because of them that Sticks and Apex were battered or bruised.

To make sure Rockets did not go down in vain, we doubled down on Sticks and Stones, we wanted to break their bones! So that we did! It took a little bit of fighting, they put up a fierce resistance but as goes, Lizards and Voltage were able to execute Stones on behalf of Rockets.

It became a 2v2: GD, AP v HV, RE

It was a struggle of a battle but we never lost hope, we had every belief in Reptiles to do it, our team chats were identical just teams apart, Voltorbs were seen chanting FOR THE VOLTIDDES, FOR THE CROCTIDDIES! I have never seen quite a strong merge of ideals and organisation in elims before, let alone one that was forged in the flames of pure warfare elims, our longest and most impressive allies, unfortunately this morning they took a turn and Apex managed to prevent us from dropping them low enough to strike lives from. I hope our Lizard allies are proud of what they achieved this year, we may not have take the top completely but we sure as fuck put on one hell of a show for everyone!

The Penultimate

High Voltage stood alone against one of the initial scriptwriters this year while Gold Dust sit pretty having cleverly played the fences all event long, how the finals go is unknown to us, but having dismantled what was intended results is a victory for LC, RS, RE and HV, aswell as the teams that got fucked by the boring scripted play in the first 6. Apologies that we couldn't break it wide open before then.

OPERATION ORCA

We heard that there was an agreement made for a 1v1 between GD and AP, to balance the tickets and go for it, we are aware that APEX would have run away with it and taken the win as they wanted all along, we may not be able to make 1st ourselves, but we definitely had the power to choose who did or didnt. Assisting GD in gaining the win was our last great big fuck you to 'the system'. DEUS VOLT

For High Voltage,

You have been the best team I've been a part of, last year was fun but this year with this team is one to remember, with great people at all levels.

Captains Natty_Boh, WhackedMaki and Trailblazer were absolutely critical to the success and enjoyment that Voltage had this year, and has been an absolute pleasure to work with.

Councilors wet_bra, -thefish-, Dexterity, Glandem and Pacca did an absolute honour and service to High Voltage behind the scenes, managing the internal machinations that make a team run well, (these are the real people that organise the members and don't get near enough credit for it, they do today!!!)

Push Captains and Helpers, you are the lifeblood and the lifeline of a team, you keep the players on the ground going, motivating and directing to shoot in the right directions, organising pushes pre pushes, every 15 minutes for over a week... i didnt get to see every push capt in play, but id love to shout out Onlyelmosaints and Auggie as some seriously impressive motivators... they could easily organise any rabble into an elite force ready to fight tooth and nail they're scary good xD

To all Voltage Members, you are the backbone of this amazing team, you have made it possible for all of the above to even be a thing, to go out of our way to stand tall for allies and ourselves, you are the real ones, you are the ones that broke those meters and turned the volts up all the way up to ERROR.

This is my favourite year of elims yet and i hope to see you all again next year! And as always:

Welcome to the recruitment page of the youngest faction to complete a 25k chain, 50k chain AND a 100k chain! (2nd of 9 factions to complete it! Also the longest chain in Torn ever! Amazing Watchers)

Don’t know what that’s about? Link

We also boast being part of an alliance of true friends, not just allies. We have faced insurmountable odds and come out on top, having been nerfed 3 times already.

We revolutionised group attacking, bringing a new layer of ability to mainstream warfare tactics.

Now that you have seen what we’ve been able to achieve in the short ~4 years of our existence, I’d like to extend an invitation to you. Become part of a fast-growing family, striving to become one of the top factions on Torn.

2nd 50k Chain Completed! · · 150 likes

In Memory of the Fallen have finished their 50k chain with a nice 300k respect gained through it's life.

A MASSIVE thank you and congratulations to all of our watchers that put time to the chain these past 2 weeks, you are what allows IMF to be what it is, a great family to be a part of that is never afraid of taking the bull by the horns!

https://www.torn.com/war.php?step=chainreport&chainID=19820769

Like most others, we started to chain on the 25th October to take advantage of the trick or treat event. With a small goal in mind of 100k respect for the week, unfortunately on first day we saw the death of our chain at 2,395.

We quickly organised ourselves to be ready for another chain attempt and this one was successful thanks to the diligence of our chain watching team, marching on towards the 10k goal as normal, however, instead of dropping at 10k and starting again like normal, we kept going, treats are just too valuable to stop and stack during. So we marched onto 25k.

Thats when Ched released the 50k chain to be unlocked and attempted, but we didnt have the 105k respect on hand ready. Fallen was already sold to the idea of 50k, we knew we were capable of such feats, however we had to ask members to slow the chain to buy time for perks to release our respect.

It was time, the perks reset and the 50k was unlocked, we went forth past 25k with absolute faith we had the 50k under our belts, nothing could stop us now.

Our chain watching team have the absolute respect and love from the leadership as they should, they are what allow IMF to be what it is, a great family fuelled by cooperation and a sense of pride.

There is poetry to be found in the first 2 50k chain achievers, Dystopia and ourselves. We started our trick or treat with some territory wars, to which Dystopia came to the aid of the defenders. This was by all means respectable and quite fun to be a part of too, so when we noticed Dystopia marching on towards the 50k as well, we knew it was meant to be.

HV noticed being hospitalised by outside hits since it was a 3v2 AP/GD/SS v HV/RE, and i was privately contacted by a friend in Monarch telling me that there was an official mercenary contract put out on HV/RE and even when the HV side was put on pause to focus heavier on RE... We had revivers going but that was the extent of it at this point. By the time it came to 2v1 GD/AP v HV, i was approached by a swarm of players from dead teams asking me where they might be more helpful, in hospitalising our offliners or hospitaling their onliners.

Having already been told that 3rd party had been hired to attack into the competition, if you cant beat em, join em.

Wings on Fire - Reptilians out in Fourth · · 16 likes

This year was one of the most fun years for several teams, cementing a group v group deathmatch for some actual fun and competition by holding our ground with Rockets and not playing the boring impossible all v 1 shit.

Reptiles were a pleasure to fight alongside as we shared chants and morale surges, members messaging eachother across the teams engaging together and eachothers leadership teams, it truly was a fresh experience in eliminations since the snakepit game turned it stale and it was an honour to have been able to break it open when we were able to. Was a pleasure to be able to have a true ally! Hope to see you all playing again next year!

We could bring mercenaries back actually, remember when Ched wanted to eliminate mercs so he added the 72hr recruit status?

Well i dont mind waiting 72hrs to charge a small Bronze faction a few hundred m to sit there and give them access to a higher rank for a few weeks because of my ELO/Stats whichever it is.

Were alking about Warband of the Fallen here, one of my owned factions, their mentality is passed to the next members and they use chains effectively. Weve proven stats dont mean everything when youve got some intelligence and desire to do more than farmville terms.

Do not try and tell my guys that me taking my stats elsewhere is what dropped them from Plat 2 to Gold 0.... because we replaced me with another similar stat leader and it went up to Gold 1... get your shit straight.

Ranked War Matching and Ranks · · 2 likes

Oh so if i rejoin Warband intentionally it wont send them back to Platinum?

So when you told Crab that me leaving is what dropped Warband to Gold, what was that about? If i can leave and a faction drops from Plat to Gold, means i can rejoin and itll go from Gold to Plat right?

Ranked War Matching and Ranks · · 2 likes

Not harder to rank back up, blocked... would be piss easy if it wasnt blocked. There is a difference between a challenge and a brick wall.

We dominate Gold with an 88% win rate, yet we are LOCKED to gold rank. Platinum we have 44% id say THAT is closer to a balanced and accurate rank, you know with 50/50 being pretty balanced... its simple numbers lol, primary school kids could figure this out.

Not harder. Impossible because the game has locked us to piss easy wins... im not even going to mention the pathetic termed factions now forfeiting themselves when they face a non termed faction but they keep their ranks? xD xD what the fuck have the devs done to this game lmfaooo

-funny part is i am a qualified game developer, i would never fucking step foot in the shambles that is Torn dev and committee... ill just sit here and laugh at it.

Oh i know who they are, i know that there are a few in the committee that wish it was different but they tow the line because theyre so heavily overpowered by the echo chamber that is strangling the game

Ranked War Matching and Ranks · · 1 like

This is shit though.

We had a system where a small faction was able to learn the mechanics of the game, percect them and work as a team to overcome a superheavy but lazy asf faction and live in higher ranks than their peers could... why? Because experience and intelligence was applicable to do better than 'standard'.

A faction with 2 1b online all day can, has and will beat a faction with 10 1b offline all day so going purely off of weight/stat size is pretty stupid because its not the whole picture.

When the lazy semi casual super heavy players realised that activity was beating them they cried for the changes to protect their lazy lead and the devs bent over backwards for them like they always do lol. Wonder where the competetiveness went? Look to the farmville factions of HoF and the devs/committee too scared to go against them. Theyre why competetiveness died in this game.

Lightweights have defeated heavyweights in RWs and TWs and the deciding factor is activity, not stat weight... yes its all good throwing billions of $ at it but that means nothing if you dont have members online to actually take the wall or to actually chain and use said funds. Look at BodyBagger in TWs or fuck even myself rn in my current RW... one man army heavyweight doesnt work when you have a bunch of smaller and active players running circles around you... that makes logical sense too, just like real world... if you got rushed by 10 people and youre on youre own... its not likely that you come out on top regardless of their ages or how much theyve gone to the gym.

Sure it matters whose got the biggest stats (stick) but it matters a lot more about who is using them (swinging it) - if you got the stats but no activity... what use are those stats?

This is why certain factions that dont RW and dont play competetively were thrown into diamond recently... activity is a MASSIVE factor that was not considered in the ranking changes... i want to say 'yet' but i have little hope
