Hello all,
I just hit my 10th birthday today, and was asked to share what Torn was like 10 years ago. As I sat pondering a good response, the best thing I could come up with was.. I don't remember!
I recently woke up from a coma about 4 months ago, sitting up in my hospital bed looking around trying to figure out how to move my arms and legs. I wondered what year it was and what I was supposed to do next. As I slowly worked my way out of bed, down the hall and out the front door I figured the best approach I could take to figuring this place out would be to find someone wiser and stronger than me to guide me along. And out of no where Ziusc approached me. He asked if I wanted a job, which I jumped all over in an attempt to make some money and hopefully find some guidance in the game. Which I did indeed get! Very thankful for that old mans advice, " find a faction, rent a PI, and start flying". As well as " figure out what makes Torn enjoyable for you and start building up for that".
So, I found myself in Undecided.. which seemed like a perfect fit. I felt very welcomed and enjoyed the active Faction chat. I continued to get good advice from members here, Clemmy, M16, and many others thank you! I progressed to learning how to train and work up my strength, digging through the forums and archives for guides and training methods. Putting them to work and spending many, many hours in the air smuggling plushies and flowers into town. Putting that money to work in hopes of starting some real drugged up gym training soon!
Here I am about 4 after "waking up" feeling very confident in the direction I am heading. And after looking back to what it was like 10 years ago and saying I can't remember, what I can say is that I remember the last 4 months and it has been great. I'm looking forward to years in the future, being able to look back and remember my awkward start to such a badass life.
