After losing to the guess two or three times I decided to start checking 9-8-7 first as that seemed to get a green first attempt less than 1-2-3 did, after that my success improved.
You can’t check them all with the remaining previous slots tho so one has to be a guess?
And what if you get a green in the first 1,2,3 check? That means there’s always going to be two numbers you have to guess at, usually 8 or 9?
