About 15 years ago, i started making natural perfumes. I have always had a deep interest in aromatherapy and creative projects, so this has become my thing.

I make oil based perfumes rather than sprays, these are sometimes called attars and are more common in the middle east.

These are made with essential oils, absolutes, co2 extracts, tinctures and concretes, not the actual concrete used for building, but an extract of a plants fats, waxes and oils.

I love to experiment with scent. I take flowers tree resins, spices and leaves and turn them into oils that can be used in perfumery.

Above is an enfleurage of frangipani flowers i made, this one did not turn out as well as i hoped, but it was a fun experience, and helped me understand better what works and what doesn't.

Below are tree resins purified via tincture, filtration and evaporation. This leaves a fragrant usable oil for making perfumes.

I started making natural perfumes because i became highly sensitive to synthetic aroma chemicals, but wanted to still enjoy perfumery, so i began to make my own. Initially i was not so good, but over time i feel i have been able to develop character in blends and make things that feel balanced and pleasing to my nose.

Longevity is not as great as most synthetics, but i find the scent of natural aromatics to be much more complex and interesting.

This fascination with scent is my neurodivergent curse and superpower. I find it very difficult to be around synthetic aroma, but my brain lights up playing with natural aromatics.

I was thinking of starting an online perfumery meet up or classes to help teach others about scent.

This is partially for my own benefit too as i don't socialize much, but i enjoy helping others in a topic i know well.

When i was about 13 years old,  i was hanging around with a couple of new friends from private school, i was in a public school. They were really unhinged and we were just walking the streets making each other laugh. One of them picked up a dog poop with a fruit pastels wrapper and threw it at a bus window which had just parked to let off some passengers. it splattered into a big circle of poop, and i remember seeing an old ladies face look through the smeared crap, horrified. That memory always makes me laugh in an uncomfortable way. Thought i'd share on this festive season x

Oh interesting, i am a bit like that, but i guess it's a mix of sensory aversion and sensory seeking. I don't like invasive sounds and smells, but i do like to make my own.

Texture is also important to me, but perhaps not as much as yours. I like clothes to have the right feel, certain things make me wanna puke when i touch them, like fleece >.

Thanks Sopdet. i appreciate the upvote. Yeah i am usually all or nothing, so all in on making interesting smells.

I find it interesting that it passes some people by, or they're not obsessed with it like me.I guess it is what we pay attention to, and how our brain and olfactory bits are wired.

I find it interesting, but definitely doesn't do full justice of categorizing everyone, humanity is just more complex.It is still a good starting point to explore.

I used to get results as INTJ, but over the years i seem to get INFP more. 

I don't like it, like most updates it has some good elements, quicker for buying, less links, but comes with a major slam to all casual bazaar sellers
