I recently accidentaly blocked a guy i was chatting with, after that i reopened the chat and wanted to chat again, then i got the following message: "You cannot chat with this user because they have not interacted with you recently or they have blocked you."
The content the message expresses is just wrong, it should say: "You have blocked this user. To chat with him again please go to the people tab and unblock him", at least thats what i would suggest :)
if you sum up all the ideas and developements in the starting post it would be much easier for people to get the whole story and this would also speed up the positive ratings ;)

Az_Critter [477183]That would be a very useful tidbit, without taking up any unnecessary space. I like the idea very much.
The only change I'd make to it is this; If I was coding it, I'd show the current number of stocks to buy, instead of the current price of those stocks, per the benefit block. Reason being, to update the current price, would mean pulling more info from the database every time the page or info is update with price changes. This puts load on the database and the server, which can significantly lag the game. The players have enough info on the page, to do the math themselves, thereby relieving the server and database of having to do that extra work.
Definitely would be useful to see the extra bit of info right where you suggest it though. :)
great suggestion, my idea would be a compromise between your two approaches:
maybe the server can get the stock prices on every 24 hours cron (or more often depending on how big the load is, there is no real need to provide exact real time data since mostly it doesnt matter if a block costs 1.501 bil or 1.509 bil. ...) and calculate the value for a benefit block, this would eliminate most of the hassle everyone has to go through to make his mind up about buying shares for benefits.
Also it wouldnt require as much data from the server as the current system where people are going through the stocks and using the server to do the calcualtion for such a block (like Oradeanu suggested) each time again.
