Happy Jump Training when and when not to do it! ·

Yes, method A is energy only. This becomes most efficient for gains after ~250k per stat. If you are at 400k+ in a stat, it is more efficient to spend your money on energy than worrying about trying to increase your happy.

How can I level up to 15 faster here? ·

The links to Baldr's Basic Advice that others shared are a good read for new players. His guides are very useful when you are new to the game. Torn is a complex game that takes time to understand. Once you have the understanding, it takes more time to learn to apply it and get into the swing of things. I would also suggest reading other forum posts and familiarizing yourself with the game mechanics through those.

To level up your player, you have to win battles. This will increase your level to 15. Winning battles (and selecting targets) is a complex process involving your battle stats at the gym, weapons, and armor.

To improve your work stats will take time and is related to your job.

I wish you luck in Torn and I hope you enjoy the game!

Happy Jump Training when and when not to do it! · · 8 likes

Just for clarification, I am summarizing the original argument:

METHOD A (xanax and fhcs)
5 xanax (1,250 e) + 960 natural regen + 750 energy from fhcs + 150 refill = 3,110 energy
Assumed 5,000 base happy

METHOD B (happy jump)
4 xanax (1,000 e) + 150 refill = 1,150 energy
Assumed 5k base happy + eDVDs (12,500 happy) and an ecstacy = about 35k happy

METHOD C (just xanax)
5 xanax (1,250 e) + 960 natural regen + 150 refill = 2,360 energy
Assumed 5,000 base happy

When the stat you are training begins at 1 (day 1 newb)

Method A - Your total gain will be around = 7,353
Method B - Your total gain will be around = 19,951
Method C - Your total gain will be around = 5,656

When the stat you are training begins at 400K

Method A - Your total gain will be around = 62,600
Method B - Your total gain will be around = 42,569
Method C - Your total gain will be around = 47,503

When the stat you are training begins at 55m

Method A - Your total gain will be around = 6,900,803
Method B - Your total gain will be around = 2,847,102
Method C - Your total gain will be around = 5,236,622

Happy jumps (Method B) outpace these two other methods of training when stats are low. Happy jumps are less efficient (regardless of cost) when the stat you are training is at 400K, as shown in the example. Note: Method B actually becomes less efficient somewhere below that point (maybe when stat is at 250K - 300K). As stat rises, happy jumps become disproportionately more inefficient compared to the two other methods, which do not rely on happy boosters.
