Just a correction.  Elims started 2016, but back then you could choose team.  I think 2018 was when it became randomized, after lumberjacks mountainmen and pink power were stacked too heavily the first couple years.

SV's article had multiple incorrect statements and guesses.  As I was reading it, the amount of times I had to read something again to realize it was just blatantly wrong was somewhat concerning considering how many people would be mislead by the wrong information, but also somewhat amusing.

For example, this:

Suggested this mail came when Rocket Scientists were already out, which is completely false.  You can do the math yourselves.  If RS were already eliminated, there would be 5 teams left. If S&S went out, then Apex, then Gold Dust, GD would then be in 3rd, not 4th.

This mail was sent while Rocket Scientists were still alive (hence the mail stating to keep hitting RS).  This was a key moment since things had fallen into two 3-team alliances, one being RS, Reptilians and HV, the other being S&S, Apex and GD.  Those alliances have not changed since that time.  GD and Apex were pushing reptilians every tick consistently, and we had tons of attacks where one team would jump into a player on the other team's hits.

Example two:

There was no suggestion that HV and GD had teamed up.  Reptilians and HV had targeted Apex when the 2v2 began because Apex had lower tickets than GD, so the odds of getting Apex lower tickets than Reptilians was higher.  You can see this on the graph where Apex had climbed and then dropped shortly after.  As soon as Reptilians were out, you can see Apex start rapidly climbing again with HV dropping, now that GD and Apex switched focus to HV.  It was definitely 2v1 against HV at this point, and no changes to alliances were made. 

I don't blame SugarValves for getting it wrong, since he's only getting bits and pieces from leaks, but there is a lot wrong in that article just from the limited information I have.  I'm sure other teams could point out more, but I'd take the rest of the article with a heavy grain of salt.

Only in elims will people get mad at a team for being trustworthy enough to actually stick with their alliance.

Mad props to Rocket Scientists on these pushes.  You all fought extremely well.

When people quit, they give stuff away.  "Donating" to someone quitting is backwards logic, and a good chance to either get scammed or to simply give valuable items to a now inactive account.

There are plenty of legit giveaways that have a long standing of being honest that people can donate to.

A game's rules are not a legal document.  They are simply a guideline of what will get you banned or not.

So yes, you can legally play Torn without agreeing tot he rules, you just might get banned from the game.
