Considering all the fallout and nuclear material that has wafted about torn in the past couple days, I'd be surprised if the green glow didn't last at least through Xmas. It'd be great if the Xmas village were to have a sort of fallout theme to it. Instead of falling on the ice, you can step too close to the Cobalt, puke and wake up in the hospital tent. It'd be fun!

We really need to see what the overall fallout from this is. People keep mentioning about a lack revenue streams, but the reason people need more revenue streams is due to inflation. At one point, crimes paid money that meant something. Now the money from crimes is an absolute joke.
I don't agree with OPs abuse of the system (no matter whether it is ultimately a bug, exploit, or mistake). It is good he came out with the info and we should want people to be encouraged to do so. On the other hand, 9 months is a long time to hold onto the bug. Others have suggested nuking his winnings and stats he got through objects. I would think that would be double dipping, unless the objects are credited against his winnings. It may be most fair to simply nuke the winnings or garnish them back (tax all money gained at 50%-75% until the money is accounted for).
Unfortunately, if other accounts are treated in a similar fashion and wind up with negative equity, accounts will simply unload their assets to friends or secondary accounts. You can't transfer stats, but excessive money can buy your way up. It may be punishment enough for people to lose their main account (if that's so, why not ban/delete/fed?). Then again, it may be better to nuke their assets (what about accounts that have their assets in the faction?).
As much as I don't like the idea of account removal over this, it is probably the best course of action. Through the printing of money, and the inflation it caused people who abused this system stole from the entire torn city player base. They have made it more difficult for people who are legitimately trying to play the game.
Considering that torn is a marathon, it needs a constant influx of people. One doesn't progress against arbitrary numbers, you progress when compared to the rest of the player base. This inflation deals the biggest blow to people with the smallest purses and can cause players to depart.

I like the idea. May drive down the cost of e drinks. Not that that'd be a bad thing.
